Eckel is probably the top rated FB coming out this year and I would definatly not be opposed to drafting the guy in the 7th but he would not be of any help to us in the near future. He probably has at least a 2 year commitment he must honor with the US Navy.

Personally I'd rather take Will Matthews but that scenario worked out pretty well for us with Roger Staubach and Chad Hennings

We most likely bring in a big RB that can catch the football. I don't think we will use a traditional blocking FB.

Parcells wants a guy that can catch, run, play special teams, and then block.

Also Campbell is coming back, so we will run a lot of two TE sets with a single back.

I would not be surprised if we only have 3 backs on our roster this year.

I agree and I think there's excellent value there but for the short term, you still gotta adress the position. If it were me, I'd look at a guy like White or Jacobs. Of course, you could always sign a guy through FA and wait for Eckels. The only problem there is that there is no guarantee he will ever come back to football. Still, I'd draft him in the 7th, if he were there.

JON RITCHIE!

He hasn't signed anywhere yet has he? If he has I must have missed it. I really want him to be a Cowboy. He is extremely smart, tough, hard worker, he is a Parcells guy.

How is it a huge need when Parcells idea of the perfect FB is Ritchie Anderson?

We are looking for a 230-240 pound guy with okay speed that can catch the football and play special teams, i.e. a late 3rd to 5th round RB, and not a battering ram.

We need another starting caliber TE who can step in an play immediately in a 2 TE set if Campbell gets injured again, and can replace Campbell long term. I believe Campbell is working on the last year of his contract and is too old to resign to another contract.

Ever since we lost Daryl Johnston, the running game has never been the same. With Anderson coming off a serious injury...we need much better than goofy lookin Barnes.

I doubt FB is much of a priority...we'll probably be seeing alot more 2 TE sets all year than 2 WR, 1 TE and two backs

I'd bet its more likely we draft another TE rather than a late rd FB...I could see us bringing someone to camp to compete for the spot but doubt we waste a pick on one
