lol yeah my would consist of Cowboys or no one so I wouldn't be winning either
Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind. These passions, like great winds, have blown me hither and thither, in a wayward course, over a great ocean of anguish, reaching to the very verge of despair....Bertrand Russell

No offense to anyone, but I always thought it was too dorky to play. I never got into it at ALL. Also, I'd never do well because there wouldn't be a SINGLE gina, deadskin, egirl, fudge-packer, 'aint, or STEALer on my team.

Yep it can make it tougher but it can be done...won a couple of years even without ever having any skins, iggles or gnats players and also no stealers either.

I'm planning to scale back, as I had far too many teams last year.

Trix are for kids and FF is for geeks.

Each year? No. I stopped playing two years ago. But I won the championship the last year I played. Like Alexander the Great, I wept when there were no more worlds to conquer.

I have helped my nephews and a couple of friends with their FFLs but I have never wanted to get involved myself. I don't like rooting for individuals and definitely don't like the idea of rooting for players on teams I hate, and there a lot of teams on that list.

I think part of the problem with today's fans can be traced back to fantasy leagues. It removes the whole "TEAM" concept and devolves to individual players. But that's just my opinion. If you enjoy playing that's great, knock yourself out, but count me out.
Captain Nathan Brittles: "Only the man who commands can be blamed. It rests on me... mission failure!"

"Jerry Jones is a billionaire fan who bought his own team for the express purpose of buying his way into the game. He wants to hang out with the players, stand in front of the cameras, be the face of the team (yech), make personnel moves as if this were a video game, and more than anything else, be seen as the guy who made it all happen."

It's simple. The players I draft always turn out to be bad, so I make it a point to get players from teams I don't like.

Conversely, I avoid taking Cowboys most of the time.

When you want to win a game, you have to teach. When you lose a game, you have to learn.

I waited until the year after Gore invented the internet to quit FFL.

Exactly. I avoid drafting Cowboys (I've made an exception for FG kickers, though - but they're not really football players anyway, right Hos?). This way I can avoid conflicts of head and heart. But anybody suggesting a true Cowboys fan would take a FANTASY football win over a REAL win for the Dallas Cowboys - just doesn't get it.

Because of the regular 'scouting' it requires - I believe FFL helps keep me outside of the 'bubble' that can arise when I overly focus on the Dallas Cowboys' team and players. I really think it gives me a clearer picture of Dallas' place in the current scheme of the league. JMO

Did fantasy baseball for one season and that was more than enough for me. The closest I will ever get to FF is watching The League.
The truth almost always lies somewhere in between...

Except on CZ.

The only fantasy game I ever played was Basketball and that was years ago. I used to play with the jerkies at Mavtalk.

There is a good chance that you don't like me, but there is a better chance that I don't care.

If I'm not insulting you, I'm probably not aware that you exist.

Jerry Jones in the draft room is suicide on the football field. The line of scrimmage is EVERYTHING. Something Jerry doesn't understand.

Yeah, I've never met any real Cowboy fan who would come close to wanting a FFB win over the real thing. They are too different things entirely.

Also, as you said, I've found that following FFB keeps me way more in tune with what is going on a round the league, as well as how all the indiviual players are doing.
