Speculation: Possible Shocker by Garrett
There is a possibility that Garrett pisses off a lot of people come draft time. Now I'm not talking 1st two rounds, but maaaaybe the 3rd and definitely beyond.
I'm talking about Garrett selecting a QB. Yeah we've heard rumors about the kid Foles from Arizona. But what about the kid from AZ State? Merely speculation on my part, but I have a feeling Garrett is going to try and find a QB between the 4th and 5th round to groom under Tony for at least a few seasons.
I think the McGee experiment is coming to a close, at least after this year. So why not try and find the next Brady, or even Romo? But it will cost us a draft pick.
I've been fairly lucky at guessing picks here and there, and I think Garrett and Jerry are going to pull the trigger on a QB at some point. Some fans won't mind, and some fans will pull their hair out. None-the-less, it's going to happen!

Not sure why that would piss anyone off. Spending a 3rd or 4th on a QB is a pretty smart move if you think the value is high.

There were rumors last year that they would pick Andy Dalton if he fell to them in the 2nd, so it wouldn't surprise me if they looked into it. I feel it's more of an indictment of Stephen McGee than Romo, though.
3rd and 21 - 3rd and 15

I would rather JG be pro active and find one a couple of years early than a couple of years late

I actually really see us going after Patrick Witt in like 6-7... the fit is perfect. He is an ivy league guy like Garrett. He was even a Rhodes scholar candidate. He has a big arm and can make all the throws, comes from a pro style offense, has prototypical size (6'4" 225), is very much like Romo , in that he doesn't have blazing speed, but is very aware inside the pocket. He feels the pressure, avoids sacks, and can extend plays with his feet. He struggled at times with forcing plays, but that could be him trying to overcome the mediocre talent around him.

I wouldn't mind, I only see Romo here for another 3-4 years if he can survive.

I don't think it has anything to do with an indictment of McGee or Romo. It has merely to do with staying on the up and up with the most important position on the field. We need to know we have someone who can take over when Romo is done.
We need to have a very smooth transition after the Romo era. I for one am all for trying to find a future replacement, now.

You should mind anything higher than a 4 because rookie contracts are only 4 years now... Romo will be here at least 3 more and I'd guess 4... which would make him 35 on the rookies last year under contract... that's not a great situation.

If any ones mad about that they need their head examined. Just look at the after Troy years.
We tell the team we have to move on from success" JG Oh how they have done that.
I know that when we do not have the kind of success, when we don't have expectations lived up to, the one that should get the most heat is the one that ultimately makes the decisions, period, with the Dallas Cowboys. And that's me."

I start losing interest somewhere in the third, and by the fourth round, it's only hard core junkies left. By then it's all a crap shoot. So, rather than piss people off, I'd think most wouldn't even notice.

<"insert" shocker joke here>
"I just always feel that he's going to find a way to win the game…He has evolved into a great, great leader of the team...He is the total package." Roger Staubach about Tony Romo
"They're a talented group with a great quarterback, and they're well on their way." Troy Aikman on the Cowboys and Tony Romo
But what do Roger and Troy know about great quarterbacking, talent, leadership, and winning anyway?
