Default just an average fan with average final mock

this is my final mock before draft day - it's a no barron or decastro available at #14 draft.

so we move down to #22 for the browns #37 pick.

here it is:

Round 1 - #22 - Whitney Mercilus - DE/OLB
Round 2 - #37 - Amini Silatolu - G
Round 2 - #45 - Brandon Boykin - CB
Round 3 - #81 - Greg Childs - WR
Round 4 - #113 - Ryan Broyles - WR
Round 4 - #135 - Ladarius Green - TE
Round 5 - #152 - Tank Carder - ILB/OLB
Round 6 - #186 - Akiem Hicks - DT
Round 7 - #222 - Coty Sensabaugh - CB

Switch Childs with Broyles and take Phillip Blake and I would take it.

Don't see us drafting two WR's and we are more tied to Broyles than Childs.

Solid mock.

My biggest concerns would be Boykins size and ability to start on the outside and not drafting a Center.

We would need to at the very least give them our 3rd rounder (and probably a 6th too) to get their 22nd and 37th picks.

Why we would give them anything for them to move from their 22 to our 14?

I like childs too much. I'd get rid of Broyles for Blake though. I like that

I'm not trying to be a pain here....
but I said that because no team in their right mind would come close to giving both the 22nd and the 37th pick for the 14th. It's way out of balance by any trade chart--old or new. Dallas could give them the 81st pick and still be gettin gthe better end of the deal.

I'm just trying to help, no offense.

I like the mock just fine, but that trade is almost impossible.

I appreciate it! I just don't understand how those trade charts could be considered accurate. There's so many things that factor into it. I don't think giving up a 2nd round pick to move up 8 spots for a player you feel you HAVE to have is that bad.

Those trade charts are only guidelines, true. But you'll find that almost all trades--except maybe one at the top of the draft for a franchise QB--show that both teams were pretty close.

This one would be so very lobsided that you could go back the last 5 drafts and not see trade like it...and there have been a few that didn't match, but they where much closer than this.
I guess if Dallas was going to hose them they could give them a their 1st and 4th (instead of 3rd) for Cleveland's 1st and 2nd but I highly doubt it.

For the 22nd and 37th, they could move all the way 10 if they wanted, so they would not take that lowball deal. Holmgren et all aren't dummies.

I'm just telling you, the gap is too wide, that's all.

Nice draft. Hey you could drop one of thse WRs anyway and not miss a beat.

good to know, i appreciate the information. i approached it as if the browns would feel desperate to get the player which was clearly the wrong approach.

Another option would be to trade #14 for Lions #23 and #54.

maybe i'm not following but from what dfwjc says that would be a lopsided trade as well. it's pretty similar to my original trade.

Default Updated Mock

I'm very disappointed in myself actually for forgetting to put Bruce Irvin in there. No more Brandon Boykin. We gave the Browns our 4th round pick and #14 for their #22 and #37.

Round 1 - #22 - Whitney Mercilus - DE
Round 2 - #37 - Bruce Irvin - OLB
Round 2 - #45 - Amini Silatolu - G
Round 3 - #81 - Greg Childs - WR
Round 4 - #135 - Ladarius Green - TE
Round 5 - #152 - Ron Brooks - CB
Round 6 - #186 - Akiem Hicks - DT
Round 7 - #222 - Coty Sensabaugh - CB
