Default David Molk, C - Michigan -- An Article everyone should read

I like this kid's attitude and strength. He seems like a really nasty guy.

Quote:
But Konz shocked some at the combine by posting only 18 reps in the bench press. For comparison, that's three fewer than Michigan receiver Junior Hemingway. Or, reaching further back, the same number as former Wolverines punter Zoltan Mesko in 2010.
For that reason, and others, Molk says it's "uninformed" to rank Konz ahead of him.
"No doubt about it," he added. "I have skills he doesn’t have. Obviously, my strength is far better, I’m faster, I would say I’m smarter. Obviously, he’s an intelligent person, I’ve talked to him, but I just think I have a technique that’s unmatched (by him)."
Molk said during a recent interview he still is upset coaches voted Konz their first-team All-American center. Molk was the first-team selection by The Associated Press, Football Writers Association of America All-America, The Sporting News and the Walter Camp Foundation.

Doesn't lack confidence, that's for sure.

You know, I like that though. He doesn't lack confidence, but at the same time, he isn't a me me guy. He is very much a team first, work out warrior, who loves football.

He absolutely crushed Konz on the bench press. 18 reps? That's a red flag if I ever saw one. That's like a corner running a 5 40.

He's a bit on the light side and will need some time to add bulk, imo. But then again, he may be the more athletic than massive type of Olineman that Callahan has preferred in the past. I'd definitely take a shot with this kid.

Love the attitude but a bit small and "not an explosive drive blocker" comment gives me pause. He may have the strength but he lacks the technique and leverage to play right now so you might be getting a Costa 2.0 his first year.
"It's little bit like the description of pornography from years back. It's hard to define it. But you know what it is at the end of it. It's hard to define it. I think you know who is more physical. Often times you see that in the fourth quarter. A lot of time the team on the other side feels it. We pride ourselves on being a physical football team. It's important to us. It's an important time of the year to lay that foundation." - Coach Garrett

He's a Garret kind of guy, imo.

Don't think there's much room for bulk, but he's about as quick as I've ever seen at the position and has great balance and leverage. Always hits his target. Small but not weak. And I love his demeanor too - something sorely lacking on this offense outside of Dez. Just something about him...

It's a game of chicken...how low can we go before drafting him. Can we wait until the second 4th?
