Default If you could change just one *non-play event* in Cowboys history

Like the thread out one play, what one non-play event would you change?

I'll go with the Erik Williams car wreck.

I've always thought that not having Williams was the key to losing the 1994 NFC championship game.

In the later nineties, losing Williams elite hall-of-fame type of talent was a big blow.

Jimmy break up with Jerry and the bill parcells era. I hated him and the signing.

I would award us the franchise 9 months earlier so that we could have participated in the 1960 draft and signed more FAs before the AFL signed all the good ones.

Not being able to draft players that first year really set us back. It forced us to trade away valuable high future picks just to field a team. I believe that if that racist POS George Preston Marshall (Redskins owner) hadn't blocked our admittance for so long we could have been far more competitive much earlier.
Captain Nathan Brittles: "Only the man who commands can be blamed. It rests on me... mission failure!"

"Jerry Jones is a billionaire fan who bought his own team for the express purpose of buying his way into the game. He wants to hang out with the players, stand in front of the cameras, be the face of the team (yech), make personnel moves as if this were a video game, and more than anything else, be seen as the guy who made it all happen."

drafting Mike Singletary; instead of passing on him because he did not meet our criteria as regards height for a LB.

Or better yet take Joe Montana in the 1979 Draft before the 49rs could. Without Montana the 49rs never become the dynasty of the 90's.

The butterfly effect would change the entire history of the team if we go back too far.

So I go with Jimmy having control of all things football and Jerry being an owner only.

Roger Staubach would never age in any way, nor get concussions.
