I can't listen to that guy and take him seriously. On the other hand, he's sort of comical.

I'm not afraid to disagree with anyone about the Dallas Cowboys. I've disagreed with Hostile over Garrett. I used to disagree with my mentor, The Soothsayer, over Jerry Jones. There's a reason I call the Voldermort of CowboysZone "DCFrenetic." And I've disagreed with Shango over the seasons on various things. Recently, I didn't like how last season he fell into the media's framing snare that we're .500 since some date the mediots picked out to get more clicks and whip more dunce Cowboys fans into a hydrophobic frenzy.

But Shango is anything but a clown.

I'm not necessarily talking to you, CowboyMcCoy, but to everyone now. Do you know how hard it is for me to make one of my "Cowboy Minutes"? I know it's crappy and it sucks and I suck and my laptop sucks so on. I get that. I suck; I accept that. But do you know how long it takes?

Three hours.

Three ****ing hours to cull the most relevant stories, write them just so they'll fit, find some footage because I don't have access to any, copy, paste, import, edit, place, render, export, upload.

Three hours.

Do you know how long it takes to do one of my shows? Oh, I know. It sucks. I suck. It's only thirty minutes. I suck. My audio files don't play half the time. There's no one in the chat room. I suck. I get it. But it takes an hour and that's when I'm not using sound bites from coaches or players.

Don't even get me started on how long it takes me to transcribe interviews. I only do that for when I have significant guests, which come by as often as optimism appears in Risen Star's heart. That takes another hour after the show, when I can find the time to do so.

I don't even want to tell you how long it took me to do the Youtube version of The Imperial Report. Needless to say, that's one of the principal reasons why I don't do it anymore.

For what? Why do I do this? So I can have only 400 fans on Facebook after a year of transitioning to that medium? I mean, yeah, if I ran a Cowboys cult, maybe I could get more followers by snaking headlines and bylines as my own. And then run my Facebook fan page as a caption underneath highlight videos. Maybe I could it that way, but I don't. I want to do it honestly, the right way, and with as much originality as possible in keeping Cowboys fans informed.

That's what Shango does, like him or not. And believe me: there have been times I haven't. To a degree ten times my own effort and effectiveness, that's what Shango does.

Do you have any idea what it's like to stand there and shoot a standup for a news package, even if it's just a two-minute shot? Do you know the effort that goes into getting the camera set up and just right with the white balance and the color corrections and camera shading? Now imagine doing that for an entire frickin' preseason practice.

And then imagine the hassle of broadcasting that on Ustream.

And then imagine the hassle of capturing and editing that footage for Youtube.

If Shango is a clown, he's clownish in the fact he's wasting so much time and effort not making more money. Instead, he's throwing such time and effort into a hobby. For that, one could say he is a clown. If I were in his position, I'd fade back into the shadows and finally observe my Cowboys in peace. No more shows. No more articles. No more cavorting. No more pogo sticks. I've made it; the Cowboys are a hobby again.

Again, I get nothing from Shango for saying this. In fact, he still hates me for going off sardonically on him for swallowing that fatuous framed mediot "statistic" and then regurgitating it to his followers. I don't care. I'm used to being an outsider, and it will probably continue this way because I don't kiss anyone's royal blue butt star. I'm like the Janeane Garofalo of America's Team.So I'm fated to alienate even more people in the Cowboys underground media.

I just don't want you, CowboyMcCoy, to stay misinformed about what any of us do in the Cowboys underground media. It's a lot of hard, tedious work. The least you could say is "thank you" before dissecting and obliterating the points with which you disagree with Shango rather than swiftly summarizing him as a clown.
