Default Just got a Galaxy 3

My phone broke yesterday so I had to go upgrade. Long time iPhone user. The Galaxy 3 seems like a good phone. Not really a fan of the buttons on the bottom. I hit them accidentally when using phone. I was just wondering what peoples favorite apps are, and some of the things that they can do with their phone that I may not know.

I like Cowboys News, and Bleacher Report for football news. Around Me is good to find restaurants, gas stations and such if you travel alot like I do. Out of Milk is good for making shopping lists.
Team viewer is pretty cool, you can access your PC with it. Also you can have a look at adroidforums.com lots of good reviews and such over there.

I like the Reddit is Fun app for browsing Reddit on the go. Dropbox is great for sharing photos between devices. The Kairosoft games are all fun.

'The Galaxy is on Orion'
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

These are all free apps, though some of them do have paid versions.
Google Voice - If you use Google Voice, this is great and allows you to put a widget on one of your home screens.

3G WatchDog - If you want to keep track of where you are with your data

Battery Monitor - Has a widget that will give you estimated battery life in hours and minutes.

Dropbox - If you use Dropbox

Business Calendar Free - syncs with Google Calendar and has a nice widget

FuelLog - Keeps track of your gas mileage

GasBuddy - find cheap gas

First Aid American Red Cross - Never know when you might need it.

Llama - Location profiles, lets you adjust settings based on conditions, ie silent at work/school.

Pulse News - News aggregation

avast! Mobile Security - an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, also has a tool to take care of your phone if you lose it.

doubleTwist Player - media player

If you are going to root it, Titanium Backup

The Official Dallas Cowboys App
Chrome Browser
Youtube app
Google Maps + Navigation
Google Play Music
Pulse
Currents (Sort of Google's version of Pulse)
ES File Explorer
Evernote
Dropbox and Google Drive
I like the Apex and Nova Launchers better than Google's default. Not sure what you phone uses by default.
Google Voice (use it for your voice mail)
Of course if you Facebook, Twitter, or G+ there are apps for those.
GTalk messenger app.

For games to burn time with...

Klondike Solitaire
Pool Master
Free Chess
Flick Golf
Super Stickman Golf
Cogs
Scrambled Net
World of Goo
Wind-up Knight
Temple Run (popular)
Agent Dash (sort of a new twist on Temple Run and better IMO)
Jewels Legend

Oh, I forgot. I recently added Wigetsoid.

The cool think about it is it will let you add all kinds of widgets to your drop down notification. Stuff like disable wifi, airplane mode, GPS, silent mode, sync mode, and even application memory to kill stuff you don't want running.

Most of these things have widgets already, but being able to put them in your notification drop down, makes them easily accessible without leaving most applications like you have to do to get to the desktop widget or going into your settings.

It flat out kicks *** and it's free.

I like Dolphin Browser over Opera and Chrome. It seems fast and I like the tabs system better.

GasBuddy
SwiftKey keyboard
Shazam
Flixter for movie times
Evernote, which syncs little notes between your phone and computer
Zedge

The S3 already has that built in.

So does the rom on my Galaxy Nexus. Though my Nexus 7 doesn't as I haven't rooted / ROMed it.

That said, the app I spoke of makes it completely customizable. Meaning I can put as many as I want and almost any setting I want in it. Basically, you create a custom settings widget, then pin it to the notifications pulldown.

I'll second this, once you get used to how it works it is so much quicker and easier.
