They were filming parts of that down here in my neck of the woods. It was quite a big deal for this area.

Trailer looks great and with the cast, I'm hoping for big things.

Should be a good movie. I've read A Team of Rivals. It's amazing how he was able to keep his cabinet together....manage a war....and mourn the loss of his son.

I'm looking forward to it. I love historically motivated movies. However, I am probably one of the worst people to watch one with because I am always critical of the historical accuracy of the presentation.

I always appreciate when someone is like that. Just as long as they save it until after the movie.

I read a few months ago that there are no direct living descendants of President Lincoln. That kind of surprised me. Anxious to see the movie!

That's kind of in dispute though. His great-grandson died in 1985 and had a vasectomy but his wife still produced a son that he didn't believe was his and they divorced and she never presented the boy for a blood test. The son did end up receiving part of the inheritance even though he never proved if he was his biological son.

Lincoln was the MASTER at making people underestimate him. He kept that up his entire life. Time and again he would pull something off leaving the so called smarter ones standing around looking stupid.

His battle with the Radical Republicans during the war was epic. After his assasination you could see what would have happened if he had not been able to outmaneuver them during the war.

Yes he took extreme measures; but it was a full out civil war.

As has been mentioned, the Constituition is NOT a suicide pact. He did violate it but there really was no choice.
