classless!!!!! Welker is making what, 9.5 million this year, yeah heartless indeed(sarcasm)!! Yes, like the Jerry Jones way of coddling and running this team has worked out so well hasn't it, you know, over paying for aging players on past performances, the Roy Williams, receiver and safety, keeping Newman, extending Ratliff when he still has two years left on a contract and a declining player, holding on to offensive linemen two years past their prime, signing Sensy to a long term deal, one legged Austin and his huge deal, keeping F.Jones on the roster, do I really need to go on, there's only a hundred examples......it's Football, and the concept jerry hasn't figured out is, it's about winning and championships... New England has a chance at both every year, under Jerry for the last 17 years, it's been a disaster, great at marketing of his shinny little pieces but one playoff victory...and not even close to a sniff at a Superbowl..

I'd love to have him but not at the price he'll want. Terrible value imo.

Anybody that thinks Wes Walker is successful only because of the system probably thought cutting Danny Amendola was a good idea.Yea lets don't trade for him let Washington get him and use him against us.I know we have other needs but we have some surplus players like Felix and a CB that we could make some use of and also keep him away from skins.

Welker is just a heck of a player. He's not good enough to make us much more of a contender than we already are though.

For 9.5 mill a year you better put us over the top at this point in the season.

we did not want Danny Amendola...who flat out lit the Redskins up Sunday. Why would we want Welker? They go about running their organziation so different than ours...so I doubt we do business with them.

I guess Dallas did cut Amendola and then put them on their practice squad for the entire 2008 season. At the end of that season, Dallas did not cut Danny Amendola. He left on his own to go to Philadelphia. Dallas invited him to stick around.

What? I thought Kellen Winslow was going to easily offset the loss of Hernandez.

I doubt they are aggressively, openly shopping Welker, but I wouldn't be surprised if they accept offers if a good one presents itself. Hernandez should return in a few weeks and now that the trade deadline has been pushed back there would be some time to trade Welker. They aren't going to sign him to a long term contract at the end of the year. Might as well get something good in return if something good is offered.

What team (besides Tampa) has the cap room to pick up Welker's pro-rated 9.5 million salary? It cannot be renegotiated until after the season.

So, almost half the league. That's higher than I thought.

Thanks.
