Walter Football updated 3 rd mock
http://walterfootball.com/draft2013_1.php
1st round - Barrett Jones C/G Alabama
2nd round - Margus Hunt DE SMU
3rd round - Devin Taylor OLB South Carolina
First 2 rounds i absolutely love and couldn't draw up a better scenario. Don't particularly care for Taylor. He's a 4-3 DE right now in college and while he is very athletic, given his size (listed by USC as 6-8 267), i don't think he projects well as a 3-4 OLB.
Interesting that they have the Giants taking Dysert who is someone that was brought up on this forum recently in regards to the Cowboys. Like the player, don't think taking a QB who will never start for you that early. I'm still looking for guys to make an immediate impact in the 3rd round.

Yeah, I really hope we address the interior line.

This year is going to have one of the best safety classes in recent memory. It would be pretty dumb not to take advantage of that and come away with one, considering we've been looking for them for the better part of 9 years.

Despite labeling myself a "realist", no one understands my pain or appreciates my special truth. Stupid world.

I'm the last person to be a draft snob--some of the best NFL players come from non-elite programs.
But, wow; a second round DEFENSIVE player from SMU?
Times must a-changin'
I'm not at all trying insult the Ponies, but when is the last time they had a second rounder of any sort succeed in the NFL?
Let alone a defensive player.
30+ years?
That would be interesting.

Hunt disapeared against Baylor, but Jones would be a huge get almost anywhere on the O line.

Really? How many do you figure will be drafted in the first round? I see a ton of pass rushers and DL drafted early and often. Plus the QB class is both talented and deep.
"Our guys are gonna be good, and we know it. So that ain't talkin'. That's just the (bleepin') way it is."

My early 3 is
1) Barrett Jones C/G/T
2) Tyler Bray QB (who I feel is going to declare and fall in the draft, if he opts to stay a year as he should next year he will probably be #1 overall).
3) Margus Hunt DE or Khaled Holmes C

Barrett Jones is David Diehl, a good player everywhere but not a great player anywhere.
I can see why we would want him but I don't think he will go as early as he is now being projected. He is a very known quantity and he would be a great get in the second.

Could be as many as 6 depending on how they test etc.
Vaccaro (SS) Texas
McDonald (FS)USC
Lester (SS)Tide
Williams (SS) Georgia
Hyde (FS) Iowa
Rambo (FS) Georgia
I don't think there will be 6 but I think you could see 6 go in the first two rounds, 3 with 1st round grades.

A player that I am interested in is Quanterus Smith of Western Kentucky.
In the past two seasons, he has posted the following:
2010 GP12 TKL47 TFL10.5 Sacks4.0
2011 GP12 TKL38 TFL11.0 Sacks6.5
Already this season, he has 3 sacks against Alabama.
If he continues to have a good season, he might be a guy we look at at OLB, assuming he doesn't rise too high.

Are any of these "highly" rated S's ballhawks?
Not that I have seen.

Jefferson at Oklahoma is also a highly touted safety.
