If he produces a winning record in the big 12 he'll make the case.

I don't really know enough about McShay to comment on him, but this is really a dumb statement.
If nothing, he is accurate.

I would have. They had a better chance betting on funny bounce of the ball over their defense making a stop.
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

I think Texas will beat WVU next week. WVU isn't a big running team and that's been Texas' weakness on defense.

I'd like to see KSU against WVU. KSU is one of the few teams that doesn't try to outscore everyone with the uptempo offense and constant passing. Snyder will try to just methodically eat clock and wear down WVU's defense, limiting their possessions. It might just work.
Ivy League
Jason Garrett offense rank minus Tony Sparano: 18, 14, 7, 15, 15

UT isn't ready for the uptempo stuff WVU runs(they were gassed tonight versus OSU). That will wear out their DL especially. UT is still a year away and probably are over-rated right now. They have a lot of talent but much of it is really young.
KSU and Tech should give WVU interesting games but I suspect WVU wins them all this year including the last one for a NC. Tech has a Baylor-like offensive system and WR corps but a much better than Baylor defense. KSU can shorten a game versus anyone but I still suspect given one drive if you give my any two players I am taking Geno Smith and Tavon Austin.
WVU can pass the ball on any team in the team in the country.
They have enough WRs to spread people out and get match ups they like.
They can run the ball, especially with Smith/Austin, if that is needed.
We'll find out more next week.

The Big 12 is flourishing right now with six top 25 teams and you're pissed A&M is an unranked SEC bottom feeder.

TCU just struggled to beat SMU by a single score, a team A&M beat by 7 touchdowns. This after struggling against Kansas two weeks ago and looking mediocre against a bad Virginia team who just lost to a mid-major at home. They simply arent very good and will lose to Texas, Baylor, WVU, K-State and OU at a minimum.
I'm not angry about the departure at all. We just won an SEC game by 48 points, something Texas fans said would NEVER happen, let alone this year.

Lol this isn't the NFL. This is College Football where clearly they don't preach defense. You can win if you have a superhuman offense like WYU.

This is college football, you don't need much defense when your offense has the ability to drop 70 on literally anyone they play.
WVU's defense can't possibly play any worse, and against maybe the second best offense in terms of production in the conference no less, and still won. Outside of Texas and KSU, nobody in the Big XII plays good defense.
No, they probably won't win the National Title because they'd have to beat someone like Bama, but they can definitely win the Big XII and win a BCS game. If they get by Texas next week, it's theirs to lose.

I struggle to define how good TCU is to be honest. They actually play defense and run the ball so games are close by nature. All that said they can pass when needed and generally are a quality team.
You can't gauge a single thing by last night. That was a rivalry game and was played in a downpour.
TCU has been markedly better than TAMU for the past decade. How they match up this year is debateable.
TAMU beating ARK means really nothing. ARK lost two OOC games versus spares and now 1-4. This is the worst ARK has played probably since they joined the SEC.
TAMU actually has gotten UPGRADED QB/WR play out of Manziel/Evans. That has been the difference for them this year. The coachign change also looks to be a big plus; (especially IN RECRUITING). All that said they've played as terrible a schedule as Texas Tech. Not their fault that ARK is this bad (or that LaTech got postponed), but they are all the same. They've played 1 top 50 team thus far and lost.
I will give you this. No one expected the SEC to be this soft this year. All the Big 12 schools face an actually tougher schedule. Only 3 top 20 teams on the schedule. They should make a very solid bowl game as the 3rd place finisher in the SEC West and finish ranked in the top 25.

The thing is, they havent played a single team who is going to win more than 4-5 games and have looked average to poor against three of them. I just don't see how they beat anyone in the top half of the Big XII the way they have been looking.

I don't think it's close this year, simply based on similar competition. A&M crushed SMU 48-3 and crushed a bad BCS conference team 58-10 who is comparable to Virginia and Kansas. A&M's offense is miles ahead of TCU's.

It doesnt mean much at all, but it did get the "you cant win an SEC game" monkey off our back.

A&M still has a harder SOS than anyone in the Big XII statistically. Playing three teams in the top 10, including two of the top three, as well as MSU will do that.

amazing what a motorcycle wreck can do to a major college football program.

Part of me thinks that they would have taken a big step back this year anyway, their lines are awful. Petrino spent way too much time recruiting skill position talent and let the offensive and defensive lines go to ruin. Now they can't block anybody and they generate no pressure of their own.
