Default Truth About Dez Bryant

This whole "Dez will NEVER get it together" "Dez has been a scrub thus far" "Dez is average at best!" Is flat out incorrect

The whole Roddy white discussion brings me to this...

Roddy white first 32 games: 59 rec, 952 yards, 3 Touchdowns.

Roddy was also a 1st round pick.. and came into the league at 24

Dez Bryant first 30 games: 121 rec, 1653 yards, 15 Touchdowns

Dez Bryant is NOW 23 years old with a multitude of issues coming into the league including last years lockout

Here is a quick list of "Top" wideouts whose first 2 years are either equal or worse than Dez's

Greg Jennings
Reggie Wayne
Michael Irvin
Terrell Owens
Steve Smith
Vincent Jackson
Santonio Holmes

Now that is just a quick list I am not gonna go through every top receiver of the past 20 years but you get the point. I am as disappointed as anyone that Dez hasn't put up numbers to match his talent yet but to pretend as if his numbers are "Average" is ridiculous.

Dez Came into the league younger than almost any rookie, and without playing his JR. season.. He followed that year up with a lockout year and for someone who has problems grasping playbooks that is a BIG deal.

In the amount of targets that Dez gets his production is actually off the charts. SOME if not MUCH of the blame for Dez's "Lack of production" is that the cowboys have been unable to involve him early and often. Other teams give their playmakers MANY chances to make plays..

One of Dez's best "Qualities" as a receiver is his ability to meet the ball at its highest point and win jump balls.. We give him no chances to make big plays this way.. That should change.

Once again I am waiting on the production to match the talent but to assume that it will never happen is absurd. He as of now is younger than many rookies from this years draft.

Anyone who thinks Dez Bryant is a scrub is clueless when it comes to the game of football and shouldn't be taken seriously. He's a very good football player who has the potential to be great.

You look at his rookie season 45 catches, 8 total touchdowns, 8 recieving and two punt returns, and 561 recieving yards in just 12 games. Then last season in 15 games he had just under 1,000 recieving yards with 928 and 9 touchdowns. Not a great start this year.

Just 13 catches, 164 recieving yards, and no touchdowns, but it's still early. I guess you could say he's been a slight disappointment, but is he a scrub? Absolutely not. Dez is a solid football player. Is he immature? Sure, but I could care less about that as long as he doesn't get in trouble with the law which he really hasn't and as long as he plays solid football.

MAtt Ryan feeds Roddy and julio the ball. Romo has yet to feed Dez on a regular basis. I think we saw some of his frustration boil over vs TAmpa. HE almost went Keyshawn on Romo.

Romo has a right to be frustrated with Dez. Has hasn't shown he can be trusted on a consistent basis. One week he looks like a great reciever, the next he goes MIA.

Great coaches get the most out of their best players. Anyone who thinks Witten is better than Dez in 2012 is a fool. Falcons get their best players involved.

I've said it in previous topics. We have too many weapons in Dallas for just one guy to necessarily get forced fed the ball.

Reggie Wayne has been targeted 40 times. That is basically Dez and Miles combined.

Austin is 13th in the NFL in yards, but 41st in targets.

Witten has one more targets than Dez, but a lot less production. It's time to open the offense up, and sit Witten more often or keep him in to block (if he can do that without getting Romo killed).
In the final two months of 2011, Romo’s passer rating was 115.9.

The problem is that Romo consistently looks for Witten (whose best years are behind him) first and then Austin. There is no time for him to get to Dez. It's really frustrating cause last year Dez was dominant in the first half of games and faded in the second half. So this year, they say he is in better shape and yet now they can't figure a way to get their best receiver the ball. So far JG has not impressed. The slant should always be there. Combination of bad coaching and Romo's preferred options and bad line play.
