Default Can Oregon beat Bama for the NC?

Just want to get some opinions outside of Duckland here.

When Oregon lost to Auburn, we were one mistake and a lucky play away from being NC. That and the fact we could NOT stop Fairley.

When we lost to LSU, DAT (De'Anthony Thomas) had a couple of "Freshman fumbles" otherwise we would've won that game.

My personal opinion on the matter is that if the Ducks play an outstanding game, we have a good shot at winning. If Mariota can keep a handle on the ball, Barner rumbles for first downs and we get a few big plays from DAT, I can see us winning by possibly even double digits. Our defensive is MUCH better than the prior two years, our DL has the size to match up with SEC size. We have the hammer himself Colt Lylerla (6'5 250lb TE/RB) that can smash up the gut when we need those tough yards.

The only thing that worries me is how perfect or near perfect of a game Oregon would have to play to win. Especially with a RS Frosh QB, as good as he is. Alabama has a lot more room for mistakes, however when they do make mistakes it'll be absolutely critical that we capitalize on them.

To early to tell. I can't even say that either of these teams are good enough to be playing for the National Championship just yet.

No. Oregon's got a great team and I love to watch them, but nobody is going to beat Bama this year.

Alabama will be favored ... by a lot ... in every game they play this year.
**** JJ 2013 Draft Board ****
1) RB ... gotta get a felix replacement
2) DB ... need to replace Jenkins
3) WR\TE ... need more offense

By no means am I assuming that both teams will make it to the NC game. Oregon still has USC presumably twice, along with Stanford and the civil war which OSU always plays us hard. Bama still has to navigate the SEC gauntlet as well. I do think that these will be the two top ranked teams come the end of the season though.

Don't get your hopes up. Bama's defense will shut them down and SEC offenses always play much better against non-SEC defenses.

It is my opinion the Pac 12's best are second fiddle to the SEC and Big 12's best.

The SEC is just brutal including physicality if that's a word. I think Oregon is faster but can't stay with the top SEC teams. If they got up enough to get them out of their normal game they could very well outscore someone. Anyone.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

Alabama's IR list is growing weekly. They're down to 3 tailbacks, Eddy Lacy and 2 freshmen as their only scholarship TBs. They also lost receiver DeAndrew White last week.

Conjecture on either 1 of them making it to a BCS championship w/ 3/4 of the season left, much less against each other, is rather presumptuous.

I'm not from Oregon. But I like the ducks a lot. My best friend is from Eugene and over the years has swayed me into rooting for them. However, I do not see any way they can hang w bama.

Oregon is going to need a couple of teams to lose to even get a shot. Florida State, LSU, and Georgia would all most likely be ranked ahead of Oregon based on strength of schedule if all en up undefeated.

Heck, even Notre Dame, Texas, and K-State could make a legit argument to be in the game if they can run the table.
