No chance but you would not want any of those guys anyway. You don't like guys who chase money or rings.

Profar is too good (of both an athlete and a financial value) not to be on the field somewhere.

I like BJ Upton a lot but if you went with Upton, you would be giving up a lot of power. Hamilton hits the long ball well and he produces a lot of RBIs.

You are going to give up power and pure ability no matter what player you choose.

Upton is a young, quality player who will fit perfectly in centerfield.

You move Kinsler to the outfield and place Profar at second. Very workable imho.

The Rangers relied way too much on power this year. They need to get back to the antlers.

Upton strikes out a lot but he hits 25+ homers with 30+ steals and rates top 5 as a defensive center fielder. That's a winning player.

Hamilton wants 20+m per year and can fall apart at any time.

Personally, I would rather Leonys Martín be able to step up and take center field. There are still questions about his ability on offense, but defensively. He will be a star.

Either way, there is no one person that can replace Hamilton's offense. I would rather not break the bank paying someone who definitely isn't going to replace Hamilton. (ala end up with a Carl Crawford type deal)

I would definitely rather spend my money on pitching if that is the case. The Michael Young deal is very much hurting the Rangers and I suspect at some point the Kinsler deal will too. Let's not add to that by signing BJ Upton to some crazy contract.

IMO, try to sign Hamilton for 3 years $25M/yr. If doesn't want that, then 5 years at $20M. If that isn't good enough, let him walk. Hell, I'm iffy about the 5 year deal.

You have no grasp of anything at all. I know he was traded to the Yankees, from Detroit. I'm a Yankee fan. Of course I know this. However, I'm not the one wetting the bed over guys going to teams to try and win rings or whatever.

If you need facts, go back and read your post on Nash, #33 in the 2012-2013 NBA Thread. The facts, as you say, are in your own words.

You won't be interested in any players from other teams. That would make you too much like a Yankee fan.

I don't have a problem with Upton, as I said earlier. I like him. I just don't think you can allow Hamilton to leave and replace him with Upton. The other moves you mention here were not in the previous post and you would still have to get Upton.

Hamilton is gone period.

Upton would be his replacement in that he would be a starting outfielder and every day player. He'd bring the same arm and much more base-running skill with far less pure power.

But anyone buying Hamilton is paying for a lot of crazy. He folds mentally at the drop of a dime. He has the weirdest issues you've ever heard of. Like dropping snuff after years of use mid-season because of an out of the blue religious conviction. He is simply too high maintenance to deal with as a top 10 salary as well.

You win baseball games with good defense and pitching backed by timely hitting and good base-running. You do not need a line up that finishes at the top in homers.

I'd take BJ Upton happily. He's obviously not going to replace Hamilton but the Rangers aren't going to find anyone in free agency to replace that. It's Beltre's team now for the next few years before Profar takes over as the new franchise player.
