That article is proof that some people (such as the author) have absolutely no idea how to judge a cornerback's performance.

Yep. Judging a cornerback ONLY on the plays when he's targeted is an extremely flawed way to judge his performance. If you're in coverage for 40 passes and get targeted twice, allowing two completions for 18 yards, you played an outstanding game -- but those who judge by per-pass "metrics" or passer rating would claim that you stunk.

Claiborne hasn't been great (yet), but he has played almost every snap and has allowed 2.8 catches and 33.3 yards per game (going by PFF's numbers, which might not be accurate).

By the way, in the comments below the article, the author does credit Claiborne with doing well in "yards per coverage snap," which is a much better way of measuring performance. It's too bad the article wasn't based on that.

Cromartie stats look good.

Surprising to see a rookie CB, Casey Hayward, #1 on whole CB ranking list with a opposing QB rating of 23.7 -- mainly based on 0 TDs allowed and 4 Interceptions.
