Like Dez, Ogletree, Felix, Romo and countless others before them who routinely make the same mistakes? With several years in Garrett's system?

I know the media listens to Garrett

But where's the proof that players do?

Either they're not listening, or he's telling them the wrong things.

Because this error-prone offense hasn't changed in 5 years despite many changes in personnel.

"In some respects" is a big qualifier, but I guess at this point showing some progress in hugely disappointing losses could be considered a plus. This team is like a leaking dike - stick you finger in one hole and the water starts to pour out of another.

Actually the media doesn't and the fans listen to the media.

Where is the proof his players do? Do you listen to their interviews where they sound just like him?

"Next man up."

"Put it behind us."

"Can't make negative plays."

"Behind the chains."

Those are just a few I heard last night listening to the post game interviews. Jason Witten sounds just like him.

The team has to look at all progress and regress equally. They don't have the luxury of stewing about it that fans do.

Yes, I do. I have no idea why you folks think I should abandon ship. There are 9 games left.

Sure, they repeat the things Garrett is saying. But what about on the football field?

A)the backups (on offense) are unprepared. Well, I guess that's alright because the starters are as well. b)I'll give you that one, they certainly are good at putting their stupid mistakes behind them c)negative plays like spotting the Giants 23 points? Or leading the league in INTs? Or giving constant pressure on the QB and getting him hit? Or all the false starts, negative runs, illegal formations? Or punt blocks, and fumbles on punts and KR? Or kick returns for TDs? d)not sure what they mean by behind the chains

Point is, they repeat what Garrett says but in no way does that mean they are listening. Matter of fact, their style of play is exactly opposite to the style of play that Garrett is (apparently) preaching.

I am naturally a supporter, and want all Cowboys to succeed.

HOWEVER, Jason Garrett has proven he can not get the job done, at least not here in Dallas, as it currently stands he is not a good coach. This team can not sit around after this season HOPING he becomes one.

The evidence is OVERWHELMING and even the greatest of supporters can not dispute he currently is a bad football coach.

There is only 1 team in the NFL that has turned the ball over more than Dallas, KC.

There is only 1 team that has more penalties per game than Dallas, Balt

This is exactly how I feel. I wanted Garrett to work out so bad, nothing would be better. But as we stand here now, he is not just bad, he is awful at coaching the game.

That end zone throw to KO on 3d and 1 was just the exact opposite of what you should do in that situation, same thing on 3d and 9 in Carolina, same at Baltimore, Arizona, New England, etc.

And it's not like these are complicated calls, I bet 99% of fans were calling for a run last week, or a pass the week before that, but Garrett just seems to drop the ball every time. As Michael Lombardi said on his twitter account, the Cowboys situational football is disgraceful.

There was a situation in the Carolina game that nobody talks about but perfectly explains the state of coaching in this team. We were leading by 2 and the Panthers had a 4th and 2 at their 45, basically the play of the game, Carolina had no intention of punting but the Cowboys had both the defense and the punt return team on the field as Newton was under center ready to snap the ball. If not for a last second timeout by Anthony Spencer, not the head coach, Anthony Spencer, the Cowboys would have given Carolina the first down and probably the game on a too many men on the field penalty. That was embarassing.

I love this team to death and I think we have the talent to go far so it saddens me to see the same disorganized, badly coached mess on the field every sunday. There is no tangible evidence of progress since Garrett took the job.

The Cowboys deserve better.

I paraphrased, it wasn't a direct quote. I also embellished with "tragic flaw" or even flaw.

It was more like a tendency that Romo has that the coach has to manage and try to coach out of him. I also remember Parcells saying that some QB's can't ever get past it.
"Young man, when you throw a strike, Mr. Hornsby will let you know."
Bill Klem when a pitcher questioned a called ball to Rogers Hornsby.

I have no expectations as to whether you are going to abandon ship, but was merely curious. my personal view is that the team will not make the playoffs until their extreme roller coaster play settles down into a stable pattern of reasonable quality. right now only the D seems pretty solid and there are even some holes in this area.

Let me explain to you when I give up. When the last breath exits my body. Surrender is not for me. Doesn't appeal to me. Don't respect it. Allergic to it. If we get invaded by a foreign army or aliens form outer space or zombies on balt salts, I am going to die pulling the trigger, and if I am out of bullets I will use a claw hammer, axe, bat, knife, or wooden chopstick until it breaks and then I am going to fight with my bare hands.

Mantras. There is a difference. Tell me when our players used them prior to Garrett's arrival.
