That is a ridiculous statement in the current NFL. How many games are won when the QB has a bad game? Not many.

More games are lost when your QB is having a good game than games are won when your QB is having a bad game.

Here's a reply from another thread, to the OP, that went ignored.

Before you jump on me about the last one... When it all came down to the most deciding moments of the game where we, after we (BOTH sides of the ball) fought to come back: 1st & 1, 2nd & 1, 3rd & 1, 4th & 1... Punt Return Fumbled, Felix Jones Fumble... we were damn sure in position to win that game. That wasn't lost, in those moments, because of Romo.

Romo put is in a hole, but he overcame that.

Do I like turnovers? Heck no. Not unless it's my team generating them on Defense... but if we're going to have them, and we are, I want to see the player(s) fight back to make up for it.

Romo did his damnedest.

It's time for fans to stop hating and come to the
realization that Romo is a great QB. It's time to stop
with the ignorant cliches, and realize that using a
"botched FG" as an excuse to equate that mistake to
Romo's QBing abilities. - D29Murray

Nobody expects Romo to have a good game every week but we do expect to see no turnovers and not 5 Int's. And that's why Steve Young's statement was so true because in this league you cannot give games away which is something Romo has been doing lately. No QB in the NFL is eligible for an extension when they have the most INT's in the league.
Other than the Bears game ( & maybe the Seahawks ) Romo hasn't been costing this team games. A fingertip & an FG cost us 2 games.

The funny thing is Romo and Young were both similar players. Mobile QB's with good arms that tried to force a lot of things. Young forgets how he never sold the home crowd over Montana until DeBartolo cheated the salary cap to buy him that SB in 1994. Steve was gracious enough to compliment the Cowboys after that NFC championship game, but that still doesn't excuse that the 94 49ers cheated. He should have been the 49ers Danny White, and Aikman should have had 4 SB wins.

He's one of my all time fave Cowboys, and I love him being there. I was wondering if people looked at him like other added vets. 5 SB rings and not in the HOF? Ridiculous, but so was Haley.

I think most fans prefer the lifetime Cowboys. Harvey Martin will always be a more popular Cowboy.

But I don't think people consider him a hired gun like they do Deion.

Since we are at -11 TO and he is credited with 15 of the 19 TO he is a big culprit

He had a genuine hate for Seifert and Young. He came in glad to be a Cowboy and wanting to take the 49ers down. I lived in the Bay Area at the time, and the Young/Montana controversy was dividing all in 49er land. Haley was mad that Young started dividing the locker room as soon as he came in, and kept whining that he should be the starter over this "Montana" guy.

Romo might want to dig these out again.

He could use a strong influence guiding him again. I don't think Wilson or Garrett is providing that right now.

Exactly. He had a big monkey on his back for long time. In fact he jokes about that when the Whiners were just about to win the SB.

And all this while throwing it to Rice and Taylor. Not Dez and Austin.

The problem is not just this year..... Stats do NOT lie. Since 2006 the Cowboys have won only 1 playoff game and yes that is with ROMO.

I am sorry. I have been a Cowboy's fan since the days of Craig Morton. I was in Washington when the Redskins won the SB and we were 1-15. I went down to the Mall dressed in my Cowboy attire.

But ROMO HAS TO GO. For me it comes down to one word: LEADERSHIP.

He doesn't have it. I know there are issues with the line, with RB's and even on defense. But it comes down to Leadership. I have been so frustrated and this past week made me sick. It looked as if several of the players didn't even care at the start of the game...... I am sorry but Romo HAS to go...

Aside from the Bears game, ( & somewhat the Seahawks game ), none of those TOs cost us the game.
