The Lakers hired Pringles.

Unbelievable. What a stupid, stupid hire. Should've just kept Brown.

Supposedly Phil couldn't do road games. Ok let him do home games and hire Rambis to do dad games. Freaking idiots. I'm so pissed off because we were so close to getting Phil back. At the very least we could've contracted Jerry Sloan.

My expectations have dipped a bit. Not sure we can win the championship now this with this clown as the coach.

Cowboys better win the damn Super Bowl.

I'd add the G-Men self destructing in the 'Natti doesn't hurt either.

This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

So you fire Mike Brown to hire D'antoni?

Oh well, at least Phil isn't back. That would've guaranteed atleast a finals appearance.

Not sure you can win a championship with anyone as coach, but this team needs leadership and they weren't going to get it from a guy who didn't even care enough to be with his team for road games. At this point Phil was just looking for another big payday and a chance to steal another ring to add to his collection.

to be completely honest, i think D'antoni is actually a better fit for their roster. i am personally happy because Pop mind ****s Dantoni like clock work, but the lakers might be better off with him than phil in terms of regular season success and when going up vs any coach besides pop and doc

Not happy at all. I would've taken Dunleavy or Sloan over D'antoni. Jeez.

Dunleavy? Are you high? That dude is God Awful. As for Sloan I heard he wasn't interested in the first place. Personally I can live with the D'Antoni hire because of what he did with Nash during his tenure in Phoenix. What pisses me off is that reports show that Phil Jackson wanted PART OWNERSHIP of the Lakers, I'm sorry but Jim, Jerry, and Mitch pulled the right card here. You don't sell the farm for a guy to come back in a limited HC role for 2 years. If anyone actually was given part ownership for what he's done with this club, it's Jerry West. And I wanted Phil Jackson back as much as the next person, but somethings gotta give. I'm just frustrated that we burned our bridges with Brian Shaw as well.

D'Antoni will fit good for the offense but his defensive philosophy isn't all that great. His offense is going to rely on an older Kobe and 38 yr old Nash to score and score a lot.

Remember, D'Antoni had a young Steve Nash who won two MVP's back in Phoenix, that made him look better than he was.

I can understand passing on Phil, sounds like he had quite a few demands and some of them would have not been good for the team. For example, no road games, limited practice time, etc. That is a lot of money to pay someone to be a part-time coach.
Everyone has a plan, until they get hit.

Sloan kept the Jazz viable for years. He is a good coach.

yea, not a Laker fan or hater, but this was a good move. Not to mention Nash would be wasted in a triangle.
