Can he play right guard? That is our biggest weakness on the OL IMO.

Actually, both of our guards are terrible.

Just because he is activated doesn't mean he plays. It will probably take a few more games to see some action, afterall, it is a 'process' to get into game shape.

Seriously, this is great news. True, he needs a couple of weeks of work, but he could be a real center for us.

I didn't think he was still on the team.

I agree. If anything it means Arkin doesnt snap in a regular season game. Cook was a guard before he came to Dallas. He's done an admirable job all things considered but he's not a natural center.
"I could've done a $2 billion takeover (in another industry) with the capital I put in the Dallas Cowboys," he says. "I really could see (myself as) the idiot who had something real good, who blew it all to coach the Cowboys. I just knew that was going to be my legacy." Jerry Jones 9/14/2012

IRVING, Texas – The Cowboys have activated guard/center Kevin Kowalski off the physically unable to perform list and will have three weeks to activate him to the 53-man roster.

Kowalski had surgery during training camp for a severe case of tendinitis that kept him off the field for all of the organized team activities, minicamp and training camp.

He has been running for the better part of a month and said last week he does not feel any lingering issue from the tendinitis. The Cowboys will have a roster exemption for Kowalski to practice, but if they don't add him to the 53-man roster they would either have to cut him or leave him on PUP for the season.

“If he has a great week, in theory he could be active for this game this week,” coach Jason Garrett said Monday. “But we have three weeks to make that decision.”

No, Cook's run blocking is what is killing us right now. It just isn't what he does well. Livings has been good and Bern is way better than early in the year

It is quite possible that he would be better suited to play guard if center is not his natural position. It's hard to judge what his performance would be as a guard because he is playing out of position at center. Then again, it may be possible. Center is not an easy position to play.

I don't know about the rest of you, but when I saw Kawasaki play center, he played strong and fast! I think once he's healthy and gets some practice in, either this season and plays, or next season with OTA's and training camp, he will be a player for the Cowboys.

Bern still sucks, and Livings is average.

Cook isn't "Killing" the running game any more than Bern.

Most around here liked Kowaloski better than any of the Centers that were viaing for the position, thank god for aquiring Cook but if healthy Killa equals an upgrade for the running game.
