Overview: Brown is a very athletic pass catcher with excellent field vision and determination. The fifth-year senior overcame injury problems earlier in his career to join Fred Gibson in forming one of the finest receiving tandems in college football. They were largely responsible for the success of the Bulldogs' passing attack, as both finished their careers with over 2,000 yards receiving. Brown was a 1998 USA Today All-USA Georgia Player of the Year selection at Carrollton (Ga.) High School. He also earned Parade and Super Prep All-American honors, in addition to being hailed as the Atlanta Journal-Constitution 1998 All-Classification Player of the Year, Class AA Offensive Player of the Year, Top 50 in Georgia, Super Southern 100, 1997 and 1998 All-State Team and 1998 Super Eleven squads. During his four-year career, the team compiled a record of 50-6, three semifinal appearances, two state title game appearances and the 1998 Class AA State Championship. He made 62 catches for 1,046 yards and 10 touchdowns during his senior year. Brown also lettered four times for the basketball team that won three consecutive 6AA Region championships during his sophomore, junior and senior seasons, winning at least 26 games each year. He led the track-and-field team to two Class AA state titles and set the all-time Georgia high school long jump record of 24'9" as a sophomore. He appeared in ten games as a true freshman at Georgia in 2000, managing 13 catches for 143 yards (11.0 avg) and a touchdown. Brown caught six passes for 47 yards (7.8 avg) and returned five kickoffs for 118 yards (23.6 average) through the first three games of the 2001 season. However, he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee vs. Arkansas and missed the rest of the season. Reggie returned to action in 2002, starting six games while ranking sixth on the team with 23 catches for 296 yards (12.9 average) and two scores. Brown would take over split end duties in 2003, leading the team with 49 receptions for 662 yards (13.5 average) and three scores while also gaining 69 yards on four carries (17.2 average). Brown was arrested for driving with a suspended license after the 2003 season, but returned to the field in 2004 to again lead the team in receptions. He caught a career-high 53 passes for 860 yards (16.2 average) and six touchdowns. He closed out his career by starting 28 of 52 games. Brown collected 144 passes for 2,008 yards (13.9 average) and 12 touchdowns. He joined Fred Gibson (2,884, 2001-04), Lindsay Scott (2,098, 1978-81), Brice Hunter (2,373, 1992-95) and Terrence Edwards (3,093, 1999-2002) as the only players in school history to gain over 2000 yards receiving in a career. His 144 catches tied Hines Ward (1994-97) for fourth on the school's career-record list, topped only by Gibson (161), Hunter (182) and Edwards (204).

Analysis: Positives... Off the snap, he shows good quickness to get into his routes and does a very good job of dropping his weight to get in and out of his cuts... Works the short to intermediate routes well, displaying good body control and the ability to adjust to the poorly thrown ball... Has good sideline awareness and the ability to catch outside his frame... Will make the tough catch in traffic and can snatch and pluck the ball with ease... Short stepper with good initial quickness and acceleration off the line of scrimmage and has the burst to gain advantage on the defensive backs... Uses his size well to get off the press and has the quickness to escape and get back on the stem... Sinks his hips in and out of his cuts to separate and is effective at finding the soft spot and settling in the zone... Shows the awareness ability to adjust on the move and uncover... Uses his size to compete for the ball in traffic... Gives good effort to gain position and maintain it as a blocker... Can flip his hips and escape the cornerback working up field thanks to efficient double moves.

Negatives... Runs crisp short and intermediate routes, but rounds his cuts and breaks too early on the ball on deep routes... Has made marked improvement reading zone coverage schemes, but struggles to maintain concentration on the ball, resulting in drops of easy passes... Will disappear for stretches on the field, especially when he is not involved in the play... Because he is not a game breaker after the catch, he is not used often to go down field... Has good hands to extend for the ball, but will revert to short arming it or letting it come into his body when working in a crowd... Has had some history with hamstring problems.

i like this pick too, the FO did a good job not being baited up into the first and thankfully stayed away from khalif barnes,

i feel brown could have been had about 10 picks lower but have no complaints , i saw an interview with him mid season and seemed like a really good team player , again not the flashiest pick but hopefully someone who can step up and perform in the nfl

i haven't mentioned it in another thread and i don't want to hijack this one but i feel the boys have drafted very well so far particularily with ware, i am concerned about him against the eagles aging tackles
