Default FWST: Kevin Kowalski is ready to return to action if the Cowboys need him at center

-- Charean Williams

With Phil Costa (ankle) and Ryan Cook (knee) out of practice Wednesday, Mackenzy Bernadeau and Kevin Kowalski took snaps at center.

"I got a few more [reps than usual]," Kowalski said. "I split center a little bit with Mack, so that was good. I got some reps and be with the ones and run our offense again a little bit."

Dallas has until the end of next week to decide whether to activate Kowalski, but he said he is healthy enough to play now if the Cowboys need him.

What are the chances he's in anywhere near the physical shape he'd need to be in to contribute? I don't mean football-shape; just in terms of lower body strength after the time off?

I really like this guy as a prospect. It'd be a lift if he's healthy enough to contribute in a pinch over the next two-three weeks.
When asked whether Jason Garrett is the right head coach for this team: "I don't think there is anyone else that could. I think he is an unbelievable coach. We've responded to him and he has made us better football players, better people. If you watch us I think we play with a certain relentless spirit." --Sean Lee
