An Example of Garrett's Playcall
Coryell system all the way.
"It's little bit like the description of pornography from years back. It's hard to define it. But you know what it is at the end of it. It's hard to define it. I think you know who is more physical. Often times you see that in the fourth quarter. A lot of time the team on the other side feels it. We pride ourselves on being a physical football team. It's important to us. It's an important time of the year to lay that foundation." - Coach Garrett

Something else to note is the run/pass option.
32 post is the run call.
Also the F-drag part of the call is for Austin to run a drag route - a quick, pass route underneath but also the hot read if the linebackers blitz.
949 - is the X Y Z patterns of Bryant, Witten, and KO.
(In the Coryell system the F is the slot WR as Witten is the Y)

A, It wasn't a screen
B. The terminology for the Coryell system is often simpler than some WCO IIRC.

WCOs don't tend to use numbers for routes, but rather the actual word for the routes.
It can get long winded but the playcalls are structured the same as in:
formation, run, audible, pass routes, protection, rb route.

Austin running a drag and Witten running a ~6-7 yd out are quick, developing pass plays.
The 9 route by KO clears that area in the cover 2 shell to give Witten room underneath it.

Initially it wasn't as the LB cut in front of Austin momentarily as he's watching the RB leak out of the pocket.
At this point in time Romo sees Witten break for the outside with his man a step behind him so Romo makes his decision.

There aren't enough threads open where you can complain about Jason Garrett and play calling?
To the OP, great stuff. What's the source of the video content? Is that a local show? I'm not familiar with it. And, yes, that drag to Austin was there, too. But Witten was open if Tony'd been able to squeeze that ball in there.
That drag to Austin has been open a couple of times in critical situations the last two weeks, not including his drop in ATL. I bet we start seeing connections on those more if we're able to keep the pocket cleaner than we were able to this weekend.
When asked whether Jason Garrett is the right head coach for this team: "I don't think there is anyone else that could. I think he is an unbelievable coach. We've responded to him and he has made us better football players, better people. If you watch us I think we play with a certain relentless spirit." --Sean Lee

It's from NFL's Turning Point.
Just to sum it all up, you have the outside guys running vertical routes and the inside guy running underneath routes.
The shorter, quicker routes seem to be something posters continually scream for and in a short yardage situation Romo and Garrett are looking to get the first down.
BTW this was one of those misthrows that Tony has had uncharacteristically this season.

I love seeing stuff like this. Much needed perspective for my daily Garrett-hating.
Real info.
I'd love to see what this offense would be capable of with Austin, and two other WR who know what they're doing. Why'd we get rid of Crayton? Robinson? Two WR who were productive here because they were smart. Bryant and Ogletree must severely handicap what we want to do. Romo missing easy passes doesn't help either. His accuracy has been pretty spotty this year.
Wonder if Garrett's offense would be better w/ a more accurate passer and at least one more capable receiver?

You can go on and on about playcall but it comes down to execution. The play in the video is wide open to convert the 1st down it comes down to making the play. It is great that fans would call a different play but in the end any play you call has to be executed.
