Henry Heading To Philly
HENRY HEADING TO PHILLY
We're hearing that the Philadelphia Eagles are poised to acquire running back Travis Henry from the Bills for a third-round pick.
Barring an unexpected development, the trade will happen on Saturday.
The rumored move is a surprise on the surface, since the Eagles already have running backs Bryant Westbrook and Correll Buckhalter on the roster. But Westbrook will be an unrestricted free agent next year, and Buckhalter is a member of the multiple season-ending knee injury club.
Most presumed that Henry would be shipped to the Cards, but the deal never was consummated.

This is a very good RB draft class. They weren't gonna get much more then that for a fumble prone/semi injury prone RB.

How is Henry going to react when he is sitting behind Westbrook? He wasn't too happy in Buffalo. This could present some problems. Although Andy Reid can handle the RB by committee approach. Interesting

A 3rd is pretty much his value, IMHO. I've never been a fan. His rushing totals are impressive until you look at the number of carries it took for him to get there, he's pretty much an average 4.0 ypc back. Throw in that he can't break a run longer than 25 yards and his fumbling problems, and its easy to see why Donahoe took a chance on a one legged McGahee.

Exactly. Henry is a warrior, and he'll play hurt, but he's not a great RB.

Henry is a good backup and a below average starter. A late 3rd is about right. Good move by Philly, they have the picks to give up for solid depth.

Ouch
Im not happy about that, I think Henry is a little more than your run of the mill Rb. A Westbrook/ Henry tandem is nothing nice, Im not saying its Emmitt and Barry but its a formitable combo. I cant believe Buff would give up Henry for a third.

1400 yards time too... not bad for a backup... they guy is a starter... a very solid one at that... but this deal is not finalized by any means...
"They say it makes your testicles shrink,'' Bonds said. "I can tell you my testicles are the same size. They haven't shrunk. They're the same and work just the same as they always have."

2002 - 4.4 YPC, 1438 yards, 13 TDs
2003 - 4.1 YPC, 1356 yards, 10 TDs
Pretty impressive numbers if you ask me.

That's not that impressive by today's standards. They're solid numbers, but not great. He's had a few too many fumbles as well.

Seriously, those aren't back up numbers.... And whats to say he won't start for Philly? Philly wants a RB that can grind it out and get the inside yards. Henry will certainly get his carries with the Eagles, and Westbrook also lines up at WR and all over the field for the Eagles, they can utlize both and make their offense that much better.

I think Henry is more than a solid backup as well. I guess this says that Philly wants more than Westbrook and Burkhalter must be looked at as not reliable. Don't like Philly since they are a rival but have to admire them for doing well at drafting, acquiring vets, and releasing them at the right time.
Yuck. I can't believe I have to admit to that.
Thank God they still haven't won the big one. (insert best imitation of The Shadow's laugh)
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.
