Twitter Jason Garrett, Tyron Smith Update, Practice Update, Player Quotes, Gurode/Holland

Carlos A. Mendez ‏@calexmendez
Brandon Carr's wearing his 'Don't ask me 4 ****' shirt. Camera guys are laughing that they can't shoot his interview now.

Well, Browns-Cowboys is an NFL replay again this week. Tuesday night. The people can't enough of this team.

Jon Machota ‏@jonmachota
Bruce Carter: 9 guys in huddle late in game "wasn't a big issue." It was a "little communication problem...that can easily be corrected."

Bruce Carter said he has watched a little bit of film on Robert Griffin III today, said he hadn't really watched him before today.

Bruce Carter surprised w/ his quick ascension? "Yeah, I think so. My huge thing was just learning the playbook." Everything has slowed since

Carlos A. Mendez ‏@calexmendez
Carter called the defensive confusion on the late Browns TD "just a little communication problem. Easily corrected."

Asked again about TD, Carter said, “It wasn’t a big issue to where y’all make it a big deal or nothing like that. It was just one thing.”

Bruce Carter says Rob Ryan's still happy about beating Cleveland. 'He said something again today.'

Ryan said last week he was surprised by Bruce Carter's ascension. We just asked to Carter about that. He said he is, too.

Calvin Watkins ‏@calvinwatkins
Ryan Cook thought he was going to play Sunday but it wasn't his decision.

Tyron Smith Update

Jon Machota ‏@jonmachota
Tyron Smith said he had an MRI on his ankle today, showed exactly what Cowboys staff thought, high ankle sprain. He had same injury at USC.

mike fisher ‏@fishsports
#cowboys breaking out the hyperbaric, the specialists, mysticism, whatever, as Tyron 'doin everything he can to play' thurs

Calvin Watkins ‏@calvinwatkins
Tyron Smith says he's game-time decision. He's a tough guy but short week hurts him.

Rowan Kavner ‏@KavnerDC
Tyron Smith said its a high ankle sprain but hes still a game time decision. Just a matter of pain tolerance. Had similar injury in college

Jason Garrett

Matt Mosley ‏@mattmosley
Jason Garrett just said Derrick Dockery would be the swing tackle if Tyron Smith's inactive vs Skins. Yikes.

Jon Machota ‏@jonmachota
Jason Garrett: Robert Griffin III "has been outstanding from Minute 1. He's playing well-beyond his years."

Jason Garrett on Doug Free: "The rushers in Cleveland are good...He has to be firmer in the pocket...He has to keep working."

Carlos A. Mendez ‏@calexmendez
Garrett says Romo resisted temptation against Browns to say I've got to do this by myself. Said he stayed within the system.

With Free, Garrett says 'it's a technical thing, it's a demeanor thing.' Said he's a prideful player. Doesn't like to get pushed around.

Practice Update

Todd Archer ‏@toddarcher
Officially Tyron Smith did not practice. Neither did Jay Ratliff with groin injury.

FWIW I don't think DeMarco Murray plays Thur vs. Washington.

Clarence Hill ‏@clarencehilljr
Demarco Murray did not practice today. That's the official word from cowboys

Carlos A. Mendez ‏@calexmendez
Kowalski and Arkin two of the last players to come in from the field. Means they stayed late for extra work. They usually do.

Nick Eatman ‏@nickeatman
13 players on the injury report Monday. Eight miss practice, including Ratliff (groin), Tyron Smith (ankle), Murray (foot) & Cook (knee).

Andre Gurode/Holland Updates

Bryan Broaddus ‏@BryanBroaddus
RT @antwon0428: @BryanBroaddus I've Heard rumors about Andre Gurode coming back is that true ? < I heard rumors he's not.

Been getting a lot of comments of why not bring Holland in? Folks it ain't happening. They have moved on from him, that is bottom line.

Garrett says Romo resisted temptation against Browns to say I've got to do this by myself. Said he stayed within the system.

Raise your hand if you think Romo should have moved outside of the system and done it himself. Most good players find a way even when other things fail. The system stinks.
It's a message board, that's what the topics are for.

What I don't understand...insistence...disdain...It's one thing to feel that way, and to say so. Why try to make other people agree with you....And why pretend...Disagree with me all you like...Don't start twisting mine or getting frustrated just because I don't want to eat the other half of that crap-sandwich you made for yourself...Because I don't happen to like crap sandwiches.

I read that too and I just laughed.... Garrett trying to take credit for Romo's play... how many times did the Browns get penalized moving the chains?

Yet, they have "moved on" from Holland and Gurode.

How can you not take 4 tackles into the season, I can see if one is stashed on the PS maybe but you need 4 OTs. Its not JG's fault but damn roster is a mess as usual, at least there are not 3 kickers active this week.

They saved $150K by signing DD vs Holland. Needed that to pay for the Victoria Secret Promo party.

That's ridiculous. The best Romo is the Romo that's doing what he wants rather than whatever idiot play Garrett sends in. This guy's arrogance knows no bounds. What a loser. Way to throw your QB, who's turning water to wine with that crappy offense Garrett has put together every week, under the bus.

We scored on 4/5 drives in the second half after not scoring on 5 drives in the first.

Things that stalled those 5 drives:

1. KO failed to adjust his route inside on 3rd down
2. Romo threw the ball late to Witten on out route
3. Romo overthrew Bryant after Smith gave up a pressure
4. After falling behind the chains on a holding call on 1st down, Parnell gave up a sack on 3rd down
5. Another overthrow by Romo to KO in the endzone on 2/10, Free gives up a sack on 3/10.
"It's little bit like the description of pornography from years back. It's hard to define it. But you know what it is at the end of it. It's hard to define it. I think you know who is more physical. Often times you see that in the fourth quarter. A lot of time the team on the other side feels it. We pride ourselves on being a physical football team. It's important to us. It's an important time of the year to lay that foundation." - Coach Garrett
