Not denying they have a good OL, simply that it takes more than that to win in this league. Sure they have invested alot, and they haven't won over 5 games since 2007 cause of it.

We can drool over the 9ers OL also, but they really stunk for a long time while building it. The point is, its just one position group, just like wanting a great DL or LBs or whatever your cup of tea happens to be. Personally, I would rather have a better overall team with just plain better players then reaching for one position group.

Drool over them all you want, but if you suck everywhere else, doesn't matter. Sounds like you would rather be good in the trenches and suck everywhere else.....well thats your choice.

Wish we would realize on this board that it takes a total team to win ballgames, and not just being good in one position group....no matter what that position group happens to be.
Did I ever say it didn't take more than an OL to be a good team.

I believe I merely said I'm jealous of the Browns' line, because it is what I would love for Dallas' to look like.

Wish some people wouldn't try to make the subject about more than it is.

Well I would like it also, but your not thinking about what you saying, its just a dream world.

In 09 we couldn't take Alex Mack cause we didn't even have a pick til the 3rd round. Couldn't have gotten Lauvao, didn't have a 3rd rounder that year either unless you wanna trade down from Dez or Lee. Guess we could've gotten Mitchell, but we probably wouldn't have Mo.

There are sacrifices there that are being ignored. Bet there were Cleveland fans who were jealous of alot more things on our team.

The word "jealous" and anything concerning the Browns don't go together. They're 2-8 and haven't won more than 5 games since 2008. A lot of good their OL is doing them.

Weeden is almost 30. Not a young QB.

Ah, yes, the trenches, I wish our team paid attention to those positions. Tyron Smith can't block everyone.

Oh, that's right he left the game with an injury and Romo was sacked 7 times after that.

The thought I had as I watched the Browns was that they have a talented core of young players, but it won't amount to anything if they don't find a QB.

They are better than Dallas at a lot of positions, but Weeden's awful play and all the injuries to their secondary saved us.

If the new regime there finds a QB, they could be very good down the road.

Again your recall of historical events leaves a lot to be desired.

In 2009 we traded down and out of the second round when Max Unger was taken by the Seahawks, so we took the great Robert Brewster instead of a small trade up to secure a good player, but again he wasn’t a WR, TE or DB so Jerry couldn’t possibly trade up now could he?

And we've addressed (in terms of draft picks especially) pretty much every unit except the OL. When will it be the OL's turn? Our OL has been consistently bad for a decade and a half.
The truth almost always lies somewhere in between...

Except on CZ.

Cool that you remember that fact that has nothing to do with Mack, but it doesn't change the fact that Mack went with the 21st pick in the 1st round so it would've taken a huge trade up to get him. If you think we are going to trade up a round for an interior OL, well you haven't been paying attention lately.

Regardless, the RW trade made sure we weren't going to draft Mack. If we don't trade for RW, then Mack might be a Cowboy but wishing he was now is just a waste of time. I regret pretty much most of the drafts between 06-09, but nothing can be done about it now.

Almost 30? He just turned 29 last week. Which, btw is younger than the avg QB and its not like hes been in the NFL getting crushed with injuries for the last 6 years either. Yes, he is a young QB.
