Our main problem is the offense. Payton would hold players accountable, he knows Romo and the offense. He calls plays and is the head coach. That's what Jerry wants.

Garrett is failing miserably at it and Jerry will go after Payton and give him an offer he can't refuse. Ryan will stay on as DC. It's the only way to save this current roster.

Jerry will give Payton whatever he wants even if it means more decision making.

Sadly, no one who believes he should stay can or will answer why. That's all I ask. What has he done to deserve to keep being the coach? I'm not in his corner but I will say I believe he and his staff have a done a better job with the draft and free agency, but his play calling and game planning are terrible. Something has to change.

Jason, don't you have a football team to coach? Stay the hell off this board and work on fixing the penalties.

Most of us are smart enough to know that Parcells greatly limited Payton's offensive play calling back then. Parcells was very conservative on offense. Payton not so much. Most of us realize this. Most of us.

Tough talking Jerry doesn't change anything unless he gets out of the way and allows the team to be coached.

Opie doesn't do it for me.

But at some point there has tpo be a heirarchy that leads without the owner being involved in the day to day.

Otherwise, this is what you get.

Some have been screaming for years now. You cannot allow players to sidestep the head coach and go to someone who will overrule him.

This is the divorced kids syndrome. Get one parent to overrule the other.

That and Opie is clueless.

I totally agree, the power structure of this organization is serverely flawed but that doesn't give JG an out. Three things need to happen, bring in Payton, fix the Oline, and have JJ step out of the way and let this be Paytons team. That last one won't happen but if we get the first 2 then we can compete.

Jerry was making jokes the other day on the owners box segment about tex schramm allowing Tom Landry in the war room in draft day.

He thinks that is meaningless to joke about and shows his mindset. He is in charge and is going to make the decisions.

If he really expected success he would walk away and take Stephen with him and hire a fresh perspective. From top to bottom. If it doesn't work in 4 or five years then re examine it.

For now the guy expecting success is part of the equation keeping us from it.

I said it in the other thread, it's so bad right now that for the past two home games they have intentionally not shown Any of the jones family or jason Garrett on the video board during the game. That has never happened before. They always show tons of shots of both of them.

So let that sink in. They won't talk about it, nor will the media here most likely. It tells the story though. It was a constant in the past shots of Jerry in his suite, shots of Jason during warmups.

Now they avoid them. Everybody knows the situation so I guess we just sit and wait and hope someone does the right thing. I hope romo doesn't get a serious injury in the next month.

I was listening to Norm's post game show last night and a caller said that a fan was removed from the stadium for chanting, get rid of Jerry. Norm asked the caller was the man aslo yelling obscenities and the caller said no, he said that he was leading the chant and that it started catching on. The security guards actually handle him roughly while escorting him out.

God, I hope that isn't true. That sounds exactly like what Snyder used to do. And one thing about Jerry, he never seemed to mind criticism that much, unlike Snyder who threw a hissy when anyone dared challenge him.

And interesting on the vidja board, theebs. So at some level they do realize how unhappy the fans are.
Ivy League

Jason Garrett offense rank minus Tony Sparano: 18, 14, 7, 15, 15

Give credit to Snyder for stepping back and let Shanahan et al. run the team.

Jerry overlearns his previous lessons - todays lesson is Sean Payton, he saw someone on his staff go to New Orleans and have success. He learned this lesson and applied it to Jason Garrett. Wrongly, but that's what he does.

I agree, he's a copy cat, he drafted Kavika Pittman (next Haley), Q.Carter (next McNabb), Chad Hutchinson (next Aikman), and now hired Garrett (Next Payton). He's always chasing something, I remember when he wanted to mimic the greatest show on turf when the Rams were winning. He's does this because he has no clue on how to build an identity for this franchise. He sees someone else being successful and try to follow that blueprint meaning it could change from year to year.

Right on, Venger. And don't forget his Deion splashy signing "success". I'm sure that led to the disastrous Joey Galloway and Roy Williams trades.

This may be the best and most accurate post i have ever read. I am serious.

He doesn't understand how to build a franchise or create its identity.
