Default If your son, brother, father played for another team, could you root for them?

I ask this in light of the "Are you exclusively a Cowboys fan" and in light of many of us having kids who play football and who dream they may one day play professional football - as great as the odds are against that.

So let's say your son plays for the Redskins, Giants, Eagles or any other team. Would you be a fan of that team?

I can say I would. It would be difficult, but, in this case, blood relations would supercede football loyalty.

Who's with me? Who's not with me?

What kind of parent lets their kids become affiliated with the eagles?

I always tell my kids, when they ask me this, that I'd be rooting for them to have a great individual game, on the way to being crushed by the Cowboys. They're horrified, of course, and so I tell them 'that's what free agency is for.'
When asked whether Jason Garrett is the right head coach for this team: "I don't think there is anyone else that could. I think he is an unbelievable coach. We've responded to him and he has made us better football players, better people. If you watch us I think we play with a certain relentless spirit." --Sean Lee

I would wear his colors, and never miss a game.

If my son was a professional athlete, his team would be my team.

Son? Yes, but it would be a different feeling... I would root for him but the Cowboys would still be my team.. If my son played for the Eagles I would still hate the team but hope he did well.

It's a pride thing more then anything with your son.

I almost wish this was the case, so I'd have a good excuse not to root for the Cowboys.

I root for Aldon Smith, but I don't root for the 49ers.

Heck yea. I'd be their biggest fan if someone from my family made it to the NFL. It wouldn't matter who they played for.
I'd still be a cowboys fan too.
