What Has Jerry Seen That Makes Him Regret Firing Chan Gailey?
In all the talk out there about whether or not Jerruh will fire Red, we hear that Jerruh has said he made a mistake and regrets getting rid of Chan as soon as he did. In other words in Jerruh's going in circles as he explains his reasoning, that "mistake" will cause him to be more patient with Red and "allow him" to have enough time to really implement Red Ball.
Ok, first off I know its Jerruh talking.
But if we just take what he says at face value, what is it with Chan Gailey since he left Dallas that makes it a regrettable mistake for Jerruh?
What did I miss when Chan was OC in Miami?
What did I miss when he was HC at Georgia Tech?
What am I missing in Buffalo?

Nothing. For that reason, I'm really not surprised. Jerry Jones is incompetent at all matters football related aside from monetizing it.

I think Jerry regrets giving Chan Gailey only 2 years. He thinks 2 years is not enough time to evaluate a Head Coach. So people who are hoping there will be a head coaching change after this season, will be disappointed.

Maybe so but Gailey then has nothing to do with Garrett now. Two totally different situations. Gailey at least brought the team to the playoffs. Garrett hasn't, even with all this supposed talent. And Garrett is clearly in over his head. Don't think that was the case with Chan.

You answered your own question.
We tell the team we have to move on from success" JG Oh how they have done that.
I know that when we do not have the kind of success, when we don't have expectations lived up to, the one that should get the most heat is the one that ultimately makes the decisions, period, with the Dallas Cowboys. And that's me."

He did still have Aikman, Irvin and Smith. I know they where on the downside of there careers, but that still is not a bad trio to have. Garret has Romo, Dez and Jones. Not a fair comparison.

Chan was the poster child for what is wrong with Dallas.
First, he was hired by Jerry, which was wrong in the first place, Chan isnt a great HC and is a better OC. I am guessing Jerry picked his name out of a hat after a night drinking?
Next, Chan doesnt have any real authority once he gets here. Aikman and everyone else run to Jerry about the way Chan is trying to run the team & offense. Jerry backs the players and thus becomes the defacto HC himself.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the drafts continue to be horrid with picks wasted on trades and terrible reach picks. Look at the those drafts...a monkey throwing darts at a chart would have been just as successful.
No head coach, no talent coming in via the draft and no system of authority for the organization. The fact that Jerry would top this with the soon to be hire of Dave Campo is just amazing. Only Mike Brown of the Bengals is as inept as the Jone family.

It's not just Buffalo. Gailey had the Cowboys averaging almost 35 points per game in the first few games before injuries left him with no receivers. He was gone too quickly and wasn't given a fair shot. And he would have surely done better over the next 3 years than Campo did. Jerry wasn't saying Gailey would have won a SB, but that he fired him without giving him a fair chance to rebuild; Jerry thought the team was better than it was, and this was proven over time.

Nothing more than nostalgia for Jed. He spouts didn't give him a fair chance. There is no chance with the current regime. Another complete Mis-judgement by the ever incompetent grand poohbah in charge of this 17 year mess which is complete with the total degradaion of a ONCE storied franchise.
AS: Cowboys ice their own kicker in 19-13 OT loss
“That is one of the luxuries of my position as owner as well as the ultimate decision maker, general manager and president – I can do that and take the losses and come back for more,” Jones said.
God help us...............
