I'm really surprised Petersen would take the Arkansas job. Him and Gary Patterson are the two top names on everyone's list every year and both of them can have their choosing of which program they'd go to.

Arkansas is a good program and definitely Top-15 in the nation but it's no Texas, Oklahoma, USC, Ohio State, Alabama, Florida, etc. Petersen can keep waiting it out every year for one of those jobs to eventually open up. He only has one chance to parlay that Boise success...why waste it on Arkansas?

He could probably have the USC job right now. Lane Kiffin is a fraud, I expect he only lasts one more season.

I would be very surprised if Harsin left Texas at this point. I doubt Arkansas would pay him significantly more and he is in a situation at Texas where he could be the next HC if he is successful with this scheme.

I mean, why would Harsin go to Arkansas to be the OC? It would be much more likely, IMO, that if Peterson left Boise St. for Arkansas, that Harsin would be at the top of Boise St.'s list as the replacement for Peterson. Just doesn't track with me.

You never know but I would be very surprised.

Peterson gets these offers very year though.

He has made a decided life-style and family choice by staying at Boise.
He loves it there, his family loves it there, they win, and they don't have that dog-eat-dog, ulcer-inducing, divorce-creating, what have you done for me lately stuff that coaches have to deal with in the SEC.

I'm sure he feels his 2 mil a year is plenty...especially when it is basically an annuity instead of a limited proposition.

But who knows, he may be ready for a new challenge and have the backing of his family to go for it.

This is NOTHING but a rumor that's been on the net for 6+ days, but has yet to even get a sentence of a mention from any credible source.

I've heard Petersen is unhappy with the move to the Big East but that is just rumor as well. It will all sort itself out in a month or two.
