People act as though the open discussion of Romo is taboo. That tickles me.

I agree. Nothing wrong with discussing any player's legacy.

Notice the "in my opinion" part? This is probably why you are always getting clowned on this forum.

It isn't fun when a poster comes out of nowhere and attacks you is it? If you can't finish it, don't start it.

Get your underware out of a bunch. I have no clue who you are but I would really like it if you would discontinue following me around talking tough.

Sorry but you threw an immature insult at me first so I think you're the one with the problem. I had no idea who you were until you threw a jab at me. If you don't like how or what I post, there is this little button called ignore that you can push. Have at it.

He was the most accurate passer in the league then, and will always be in the top three or four.
He was a fiery leader that demanded the team play up to their level.
And he was such a team player he sacrificed personal stats for the team to win.
I'm a big time Romo fan and would love to see a few championships.
But this measuring contest and excuses to elevate Romo ignores some very important facts, and slanders Aikman to elevate a current pet cat.

Thank you! Aikman was a machine come playoff time. Dude was clutch.

When people bring up SB rings, then teams are being compared. Both great QB's, but Aikman had a great team around him for 4-5 years, and Romo has not had that. And that's not an excuse to elevate Romo (whose accomplishments need no embellishment anyway), it's just a simple fact.
It doesn't slander Aikman either, who could have thrown for a lot more yards on a .500 team with no running threat, but whose passer ratings every year (more TD, more INT) wouldn't have been any higher than they were.

When I see comparisons and "if Romo had Aikman's team," comments, I scratch my head.
Romo is a fabulous player. But there is no way to assume that if he were behind Aikman's line he would have been as good.
Because he is not as accurate.

What makes you think he would have to be as accurate as Aikman to be as good, or to have as much success? Romo--and many others--have had a lot of success in the NFL without being as accurate as Troy Aikman.

Because of the offense Jimmy ran. Plain and simple.
Tony plays sandlot. Waits for people to clear and throws in an area. He is not that accurate and has days when he is woefully inaccurate.
Aikman was a surgeon. That slant was a thing of beauty because Troy could hit the right spot 95 out of 100 times.
