Default Romo will never best Aikman until he brings us three rings

he brings us three rings... Many will view this as yet another Romo hating thread. To the contrary, I believe Romo is a solid QB that can take this team to the promise land if given a fully functional offensive line to lead the way. It is nice to see Romo set a record bit he is nowhere near Troy in terms of the sheer command of all phases of the offense. Whether it was firing a precision pass into an impossible hole or bringing all 11 together to reach a common goal in the huddle .. Troy did it in an unassuming manner with a level of precision and determination that remains unmatched imo . Once again, the intention here is not to ddenigrate Romo. Moreso it is to remind you of the greatness that was (& still is) #8.

Judging an individual by a team wide accomplishment is silly.

Aikman was indeed great, he had about a 5-6 year window where he was the best in the league. Once his team started to break down it was another story.

Put Troy behing the lines that Romo has had to deal with and how many concussions or busted chins would he have had by now? Give Romo a decent OL hopefully next year and he will be so much improved. Give him a run game so he can use the play action pass and he will be even more deadly than he is today.

This team is ready to make a run, once we get the OL sorted out. Look at Romo's production against the Eagles last week...Because we had a run game and we were able to use the play action pass.

Hopefully before it is all said and done Romo will get his 1 ring along with Witten...boy do they deserve it.

Tony is never going to bring 3 rings to the Cowboys. Hell, I hope he just gets one!

But, different time and era, bro!

Troy had a team with no salary cap so they could get the best of the best. And, IMO, if Tony was on that team that Troy was, he might have done the same thing that Troy did.

Call it what you will but I will simply say this.. Troy Aikman was not just a benefactor of being in the right place at the right time. On the other hand, you can definitely say many of his teammates during that time indeed were benefactors.

That is indeed correct. In my mind, that does it. Your opinion is your opinion.

Well, Romo will never do that.

And, as Troy would say...

"Get real..."

It is interesting, people say Smith benefited from the line, Irvin benefited from Smith, Aikman benefited from the others. I swear none of those players gets the credit they deserve.
