Default Behind the Steel Curtain: Steelers Injury Report

Steelers Injury Report: Willie Colon has surgery but hasn't been placed on IR
By Neal Coolong on Dec 11, 2:06p 11

Expect the Steelers offensive line to take on the same look it has over the last three games.

Left guard Willie Colon will miss at least the Steelers' Week 15 game against the Dallas Cowboys after undergoing knee surgery Monday. The move will likely land Colon on injured reserve for a third consecutive season.

That roster move hasn't happened as of yet, likely as the Steelers weigh their options and wait for a practice or an as-of-now unannounced workout of a free agent.

All indications suggest Colon will be out at least a few weeks, which would put him out for the remainder of the season.

The team also said right tackle Mike Adams and cornerback Ike Taylor will miss the game as well. Adams (ankle) has been out since suffering a high ankle sprain in Week 12, and Taylor fractured his ankle in the Steelers' Week 13 win over Baltimore.

Outside linebacker LaMarr Woodley is expected to practice this week, and could make his return this week.

Looks like DeCastro may start.

According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that rookie David DeCastro could play right guard this week against the Cowboys. That would allow them to switch Ramon Foster to left guard and Maurkice Pouncey back to center.

Plus BR has had a game to chip off the rust.

They have lost 3 out of 4, they are backed into a corner, like a trapped animal.

This is not a good time for the Cowboys to play the steelers.

I have seen this before, the steelers will respond, .. question is, will the Cowboys be ready?

Will Stealers responds? Absolutely. Tomlin will make sure of that. Team will do it, if for nothing else -for him. With that aside. That team ha proven they can do it when they need to.

Will the Cowboys be ready? Well, we all keep waiting for them to turn the corner. Actually been waiting for yearssssssssssss.....

Based on our history of the last decade or so.

- I say we will not be ready.
- we are too banged up to really match up well
- we have yet to prove what the Giants and Stealers have already proven many times over. They can win games when they absolutely have to.

We have proven we cannot.
We have proven will can get beat down when it matters most.

Until that changes. Expect the peaks and valleys to continue.
