SF has both Willis and Bowman on punt coverage.

Andy Lee is too good...still drilling the ball in those conditions. 49ers have to worry about Akers' ability if this turns into a FG game

Wow. I can't believe the Patriots are about to make a 31-3 comeback.

SF quit playing. They went into prevent mode too early.

I agree, Niners offense is subpar.

It's the 1993 Houston at Buffalo wild card game all over again.

Eh...they were up 31-3 over one of the top 2-3 teams in the league. The 49ers are the best team in the NFC.

This is an epic collapse, but it's only because they got bored after dominating the clear favorite for the Super Bowl out of the AFC.

It appears to me that SF is just gassed...completely.

I'm so glad I kept watching this game.
"It's little bit like the description of pornography from years back. It's hard to define it. But you know what it is at the end of it. It's hard to define it. I think you know who is more physical. Often times you see that in the fourth quarter. A lot of time the team on the other side feels it. We pride ourselves on being a physical football team. It's important to us. It's an important time of the year to lay that foundation." - Coach Garrett

I remember last year, when people gave Garrett all sorts of grief for continuing to throw against Detroit when we were up 24 with 10 min left in the 3rd quarter, instead of just running the ball. The argument was, that at that point, the game is basically in hand, and even if you go 3 and out (repeatedly), you count on your defense to help close it out for you. This game is an example of why you keep your foot on the pedal, because if you're going against a team with a powerful offense, they can close that gap.

Now, people may argue that the Detroit offense wasn't what this NE offense is. True, although it was still very explosive. And our defense wasn't near what this SF defense is.
There's always more to the story.
