Default Carr makes game’s biggest play, teammate: ‘That’s why they gave him the big bucks’

ARLINGTON – Cowboys cornerback Brandon Carr made the most important play Sunday at Cowboys Stadium. Carr made his second interception in as many weeks, but unlike the one he had against the Cincinnati Bengals, this one came in overtime, setting up a 27-24 Cowboys victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“It was just reaction and instinct,” Carr said. “He threw it behind him and I laid out for it and caught it.”

Cowboys defensive tackle Marcus Spears compared the timely interception to a buzzer-beater in basketball.

“That guy studies the game and understands it,” the veteran lineman said. “There is no doubt in my mind that he knew that was coming. That’s why they gave him the big bucks to make plays, and he’s making them.”

Carr is a playmaker and we need more playmakers.

I loved how earlier in the game they were targeting him because Hailey knew him from his KC days. I had a feeling it would pay off.

That was a big time play. Nobody on this defense has made a play like that for years.

I'm proud of my cousin... Playing CB in the NFL is the second hardest job next to the QB position.

I was trying to fugure out how it was that he did not score a touchdown. I really thought that he tip of the ball crossed the plane of the goal line. It was a terrific play and will hopefully be the spark for the rest of the season.

He made a cut right around the 3 yard line that slowed his momentum and allowed himself to be tackled before reaching the goal line. If he continues his path towards the middle of the end zone he scores easily.

Carr has picked his play up since that Redskin game. I'm glad we signed him as he seems to be the kind of guy who just puts his head down and goes to work instead and gets the job done in the end. We need a team full of these guys.
