Default Our Playoff scenarios

We Win the Division if one of the following happens:
We Beat NO and the Skins OR
We Beat the Skins and Ravens Beat the Giants

We secure a Wildcard if the following things ALL happen:
1. We win either game against NO or Skins
2. Chicago Loses Out
3. Minnesota Loses Out
4. Giants lose 1 game

*We can not beat Chicago or Minnesota in any WC tie break scenario*

kind of thought so. I can see one of them maybe losing out but not both of them.

If the Giants win out, we still lose the wildcard if we go 1-1.. unless that one win is against the skins.

If we go 1-1 (win over Skins) and the Giants win out, we have to finish with a better record than Chicago and Minnesota because Chicago beat us head to head and Minny owns a better Conference tie breaker.

Added the Giants. They need to lose one game in addition to Chicago and Minnesota losing out.

We also win the division if we beat the Skins and the Eagles beat the Giants.

simple beat New Orleans then Washington go into the playoffs on a role.

Cowboys are back in a situation where they control their own fate just go out and win.

If we tie with both the Bears and Vikings, we get the wild card. This assumes that Green Bay beats Minnesota. I know you won't believe it, but head to head doesn't matter in the 3 way scenario. I ran the ESPN playoff machine and it explains the tiebreakers for whatever scenario you come up with. Of course, this assumes that ESPN.com has the rules right on the playoff machine. If you add another 9-7 team as well, it gets really confusing. Let's just go 10-6 and make it easy!

If you google for "sportsclubstats nfl" there is an interactive chart for potentional playoff scenarios. I'd post the link, but...

Minnesota has @HOU and vs. GB. Those are both very losable, since GB should still be fighting for a bye in week 17.

Chicago's lost three in a row and goes on the road for their last two, vs. ARI and DET. Losing both seems unlikely, but it's certainly possible.

We can make the WC if MIN loses out and CHI loses to Arizona.
And we beat NO and WSH. That would make us 3rd and Washington 6th.

Who to root for this weekend
Arizona
Baltimore

Philly or Washington. Doesnt matter who wins, because if we win, that final game is for division.
Houston (knock MIN out)

How I see things ending up...
WSH (8-6) at PHI: WSH win (9-6)
NYG (8-6) at BAL: BAL win (8-7 NY)
MIN(8-6) at HOU: HOU win(8-7 MIN)
NO at DAL(8-6): DAL win(9-6)
CHI(8-6) at ARI: ARI (8-7 CHI)

week 17
DAL at WSH: DAL win(10-6) WSH(9-7)

Wild Card

Seattle at Dallas 4th seed
Washington 6th at San Fran

If Giants win out and we beat the Redskins, we would still be division champs, correct?

Nope.....If we lose to the Saints and beat Wash then the Giants have to lose one of their last two for us to win the division.

As long as we beat the Saints too.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

That means we win the division, not the WC. Covered in my first scenario.
