ESPN: Jays get Dickey
Mets Trade R.A. Dickey To Blue Jays
ESPNNewYork.com's Adam Rubin discusses R.A. Dickey's trade to the Blue Jays.
Cy Young winner R.A. Dickey has reached an agreement with the Toronto Blue Jays on a two-year, $25 million extension, pending a physical, that will allow Toronto and the New York Mets to complete their trade, sources tell ESPN's Buster Olney.

And just like that, with 2 trades, the Jays because WS contenders for the first time since the early 90's.
Love it.

Why?
Because they traded for a bunch of high priced guys that helped the Marlins to 69 wins?
And then add a knuckleball pitcher that may or may not duplicate his recent success?
It is good to see them make all these moves. The AL East could be interesting again. They should be more competitive. Combine that with the Skankees age issues, the Red Sux situation, the Rays maybe being in it again, and the possibllity that the Orioles play well again, it should be a fun summer.
Im ready for Spring Training!

They have some good hitting, now they have a great rotation and a good bullpen.
Not saying they will win the WS, but for the first time in yearsssss i'm excited for the season to start.

I hate seeing Travis d'Arnaud go to the Mets. I think he's gonna be really good when he gets to the big leagues.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

I don't get the animosity to Dickey. The guy has the best ERA in the league the last three years. I loved the guy pitching for the MEts. This is not Joe or Phill Niekros knuckleball. I have never seen a pitcher dominate teams like he did over a stretch this summer. Again, don't understand the hate. The guy is as good or better than advertised.
Who knows if the minor league guys they get will be any good. I did know that every fifth day the Mets had a good shot to win with Dickey on the mound. Cannot say that anymore.
Polk County Florida Sheriff Grady Judd when asked why his Swat Team shot a suspected Cop Killer 68 times answered, "That's all the bullets we had."

The Jays biggest weakness was SP and the bullpen.
Starting rotation of Dickey, Johnson, Buehrle, Morrow and Romero is pretty solid.
Bullpen looks decent, nothing special but improved.
Bautista, EE, Lawrie, Reyes, Melky (i still don't like that signing), Arencibia's power..Not a bad hitting line-up.
This team should be able to make a run at the wildcard spots, if not the division.
Hopefully the new additions, actually provide results on the field...which isn't always the case. But i'm hopeful .

I'll never trust a knuckleballer, especially in the Rangers balpark.

The Jays should definitely be in the race for the AL East. Not sure if they can actually win it.
Formerly the notorious nyc!

There is a good chance that you don't like me, but there is a better chance that I don't care.
If I'm not insulting you, I'm probably not aware that you exist.
Jerry Jones in the draft room is suicide on the football field. The line of scrimmage is EVERYTHING. Something Jerry doesn't understand.

Offseason isnt over yet but so far the Birds havent done anything.
Resting on our laurels from last year isnt enough IMO. Need to upgrade w/ at least a SP and a big bat.
