Default Offensive linemen rankings...

Per PFF...

Free 68th out of 75 tackles rated.
Smith 49th out of 75.
Bernadeau 59th out of 82 guards rated.
Livings 16th out of 82.
Cook 20th out of 36 centers rated.

Based on overall pass protection the line is 25th.

Interestingly enough the Giants are 24th... The Eagles 26th.

That's absolutely embarrassing.

Looks like Livings is having a solid season. Everyone else have been average and in Free's case, pretty awful. This definitely should be priority number one come this off-season ... fix this damn offensive line.

It's certainly not good.

There's only one guy who's playing better than average.

And the second best player (based on those rankings) is a fill-in for an injured starter.

If the line were evaluated on the last two games, would Free have a higher rating? Would Parnell be given a good grade?

Has Callahan's ploy gotten us the right tackle performance we were hoping to have?

Curious where a healthy Costa would be rated

when you are cheap you usually get what you pay for.
One can hope that Smith will improve as he was the only expensive part
Livings has been inconsistent
Bernie stinks
Cook is a backup
Free -well enough about that loser

I'm curious to see how they'll perform next year (assuming not much changes). I think it's fair to say that they've improved as the year has gone on, perhaps that's due to them "gelling" as a unit.

I question how much better Free or Bernadeau would be with better player next to them?

I mean, neither one is setting the world on fire. But where would Bernadeau rank if he had a tackle next to him who was say ranked 40th rather than 68th?

Pretty much. Hopefully it will be improved greatly next season.

last time i saw the full list it was cleveland.
but there are a handful of really good OLs that wont make the playoffs.
maybe he'll list the 3 or 4 of the top 15 that are already out.

jets, bills, browns, saints, giants(if they miss) all rank very high along the ol this year.

pff is hard to gauge versus others because it realllllly knocks you for penalties whereas other sites focus far more on sacks allowed or yards per rush in your area.

Free's rated as the worst player ever because he is leading the league in penalties. They torch you for that. He's been bad even without penalties but factor those in and it's not even close as to whop is the worst player with 11+ starts. If he can't stay on-sides not sure who slides in next to him matters. Tho benching him seems to have done wonders for his concentration.

Bern is a heady guy but he isn't a physical beast sadly. He would probably benefit a great deal from a top notch OC who can help double-team. He is beaten regularly on stunts it seems. Not a quick reactor.

Livings has been very solid. Good player inline and straight ahead. Not much of a player in space unless you let him get into your body.

Tyron Smith would probably be a top 10 LT if he stayed onsides. That's be what I'd work with him most on this off-season. He is far too quick and agile to need to jump snaps.

We will fix it.

One cornerback at a time.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.
