Funny how that works.

Marino won 8 playoff games and went to the playoffs just about every season?
Romo has won 1 playoff game.
Other than that -- no reason.

Roger made a pass in one of the superbowls against the Steelers, that would have gotten Quincy Carter ran out of town.

90% of their careers consist of the regular season. So if Romo's better in that 90% every single season, that means he's the better QB.
As for the playoffs, QBs that win Super Bowls have outstanding teams around them. No other way around it. Eli had a tremendous amount of help from a defense that made Matt Ryan, Aaron Rodgers, and Tom Brady look somewhere between average to awful.
Do you people even watch football?

TODAY Eli wasn't better than Romo that's the reason for this thread it's called living in the moment and it happens every week here in some form or another. Statistically Romo is better than Eli this season and has been better "statistically" a number of seasons but it hasn't brought the Cowboys a championship. It's about getting to the playoffs and going deep that's how QB's are measured. The 2012 season isn't over and there's a chance Romo could be sitting home for the playoffs again while Eli is competing in them. The book on this season isn't complete.

So, not the 60,000+ yards passing, # of completions or TD's factored in?

The only stat I care about is the W/L stat. Romo has a chance to change a lot of minds. He's been in this position a ton. If we lose, again, his fans will point to his stats, while I point to the record.
Then his fans will point to the team around him, while I will point to the team around him contributing to his stats.
You win, people will love you. You lose, you will be sitting around making excuses. That's my answer.

If he didn't catch it it wasn't a bonehead play, it was a missed int. Eli still has the bling and Harrison got the bb gun.

Because he was the greatest pure passer of his era who held the single season passing yardage record for 27 years. He held several NFL passing records during his career when he retired. When Marino was in his prime most considered him the best QB in the NFL. It's pretty simple why he's in the Hall of Fame.
