Default Does Wet Turf Hinder Passing or Running More?

It will be cold and the turf wet from a wintry weekend in Washington.

Does that hurt a passing team or a running team more?

Washington does a lot of outside the tackle runs with cuts back to the holes and quick horizontal passing to wings. I have a hunch footing may affect them more it first appears.
Cowboys - Eagles

You can't win a playoff game in the regular season.
You can't win a game in December any other time than December.
If thats all you got, keep your mouth shut.

LEAVE NO DOUBT...

Apparently the grass is going to be covered through the snow Saturday night...then they have all day to clear the field. Not supposed to be any more precipitation Sunday afternoon.

I would say it makes you a better run team in that type of weather.

That does generally seem to be the case. However, if the field is in poor shape I would still love to see the Cowboys run at least a few of the WR screen plays we've been seeing to put guys like Harris, Bryant, and Austin in space to make a play (since our run game hasn't exactly been lights out this year). If footing is tough I could see any one of those 3 receivers making one or two guys miss and taking a play to the house.

bigger issue may be the temp, which could be in the 20's.

It helps the offense on both running and passing.

True, that's why I don't think this game is going to be nearly as high scoring as Thanksgiving. That and the second meeting tends to favor the defenses a bit more in my opinion.

Running the ball in this kind of weather is key... The Cowboys better come with the old school mentality this game!

Hinders defense overall. You're far more likely to lose your footing reacting on defense.

So, IMO, a wet field helps the team with the worse defense as it minimizes that disadvantage.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

I don't think there's a clear advantage or disadvantage, you need footing to do everything in football and rain hinders that.

We need every advantage we can get......
Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
