Goose on Barber III

Had him rated as a high 4th round back. Solid pick, good back. Potential as a kick returner. Runs a 4.49. Nothing spectacular ... Good size, good speed, good production. A possible 1,000 yard rusher. Mewelde Moore was taken in the 4th round last year and started some games, and Barber could do the same thing if asked to this year. This is a good RB who is used to working in tandem and sharing a job, he'll work well with Julius. Minnesota would have taken him if he was still on the board, so they had to trade up to take Fason.

FS still available? Marviel Underwood is the best coverage safety in this draft. I don't know if he gets to the 5th round. He had a lot of buzz about him heading into the draft. He's a safety who runs in the 4.4 and started some at cornerback. If I had Roy Williams, I would take this guy and he would let him play in the box. I doubt he gets to them in the 5th tough.

WR still available? Gibson should have been a 3rd round pick. I like Chase Lyman at Cal in the 5th. I thought Roydell Williams was a potential 3rd round pick, he had a lot of buzz about him going into the draft.

I like this pick. The RB position needed to be rebuilt and with JJ and Barber I think we now have a great young tandem.

The Jints supposedly had him targeted as a sub for Tiki Barber and it was hoped, eventual replacment. If it is true Tuna had preferred the "cornered" Clarett, at least the icing on this cake is taking the Jints preference one pick before their selection.
