Default Cowboys Break talking about Ratliff
Talking about Jay Ratliff hasnt been around the team for over a month. Thats disappointing. Said 8 players on IR made it to the Redskins game but Ratliff didnt go. Ill say it right now, Ratliff wont be on the team in 2013.

What other players on IR didn't make it and why? Maybe Ratliff has doctors orders to rest after his surgery.

Ratliff will be on the team in 2013, we need some DL players and we don't save much by cutting him. He is respected in the locker room and by JG.

Tend to agree. We have so many needs on the OL and DL/LB that every need cannot be addressed in one or two off seasons.

They said the other players on IR made the trip. Said they wanted to be there and Garrett wanted them there. But Ratliff chose not to go

He would be a 6million hit against the cap if he is cut. That will be strong motivation for him being on the team.

Cutting him would still put $6 mil dead money on the cap. So makes no sense to cut him, and still pay for his salary. It's not like we have great options now with Brent out of football.

Also talked about Austin. Said people they talk to in in the organization dont paint a pretty picture of Austin. Think he might be gone too.

After june 1 he's 3 mil in 2013 and 3 in 2014. I think that'll be the route

You can't cut Austin. His contract is far too cap friendly for another team to simply cut.

Dallas has already taken the brunt of the hit for that contract and still has 5M in dead money because of it.

Guaranteed another team would be more than willing to take that contract on.
