Question Speculate: What's our starting Lineup on D as of right now??

What you guys thinkin? I say

ellis
ferguson (glover rotating in both de and nt)
spears

ware
dat
burnett (james could also start here with burnett shifting outside)
singleton

henry
fs
williams
newman

only hole i see is free safety obviously...id like to see us get one more lb since we're still kind of small with dat, burnett, and singleton....thoughts?

Either Ware or Spears won't start.

Thats good for a 3-4.
As for 4-3:
Ellis, Fergy, Glover, Spears

Ware, Dat, Burnett

Newman, Henry

Roy, Hunter/New Addition
That's why they play the game

I think that Singleton and Hunter are officially on the trading block.

They'll all be mixed and matched so much in different formations and packages that the label of "starter" is rather meaningless. Technically Terrell Suggs wasn't a starter his rookie year, but he played a ton of snaps because he played in every long down and distance formation.

no way

Ware could not play purely OLB in a 4-3 scheme. He's more of a DE than a LB.

if we got ellis for rogers id be hyped, but then scared for our d-line's durability...i like rotating 4 guys on the line on the 3-4...constantly keeping opponents guessin, on glover at nt or de...itd be scary, but then again so would rogers...

Well, he would have to bulk up. I think we may take a play form the eagles and use the joker position moving him around every play ala kearse

We got a lot deeper on the DL, especially when you think about guys we've been developing like Coleman, Ogbogu, Brooks, and you maybe even throw Carson in that group.

I'd love to get some value for some of these guys rather than just cut them outright if they don't fit in the new D.

I like our front seven in obvious passing situations; something like Ware, Elis and Shanle playing outside with Glover and Spears in the middle.

Well I forgot about Coleman and Og; oh man we going to get some pressure this year
