Default Who in here thinks Jones makes a move for Jarvis Jones

Jarvis Jones (who just declared for the draft)? Let me say, I'm not a fan of moving up, but it sounds just like something Jerry would do.

The Washington Redskins.............where former Pro Bowlers go to suck.

Who knows at this point? A little early for this level of speculation isn't it?

Love him, but we need a nose tackle or an OT or Guard. The draft is deep on the LOS, both sides. No excuse for Jerry not addressing it.

He has neck issues. Also he plays upright and isnt really big enough for a 3-4 on the out side. His team mate Ogletree is more interesting IMO.

Never a fan of taking a NT in the 1st round.. Go DE or Guard... I'd maybe be fine with drafting a top safety like Vacarro, and solidifying the DB core for years to come

Kiper rates Jones as the No. 1 prospect in the draft in his updated player rankings released Wednesday. He wrote of the Bulldogs' standout: "Explosive, disciplined, relentless edge rusher who profiles as a 3-4 OLB and doesn't need to come off the field. A quick first step, violent hands, tackles well and closes fast. Solid against the run and can really cover."

McShay listed Jones at No. 6 in his most recent rankings, noting that, "He is a good overall athlete and top-notch pass-rusher, has impressive range in pass coverage and against the run, and can line up all over the defensive formation."

It's that ability to contribute in a variety of ways that Georgia defensive coordinator and former NFL coordinator Todd Grantham said will serve Jones well at the next level.

"I've been around some pretty good 'backers -- DeMarcus Ware, (Anthony) Spencer -- and he's definitely up there with those guys," said Grantham, who previously coached with the Dallas Cowboys. "He brings a little different flavor to what he does. He can set the edge in the run game. He's got the ability to rush the passer. He's got some instincts. He can get his hands on balls. He had a pick against Missouri and he actually batted a ball (against Nebraska in the Capital One Bowl) in coverage.

"So I think he kind of has his own little flavor and I think he'll be pretty dynamic at whatever he chooses to do."

This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

If we're drafting an Offensive Lineman in the 1st round I rather draft a Tackle. It's not as if we're loaded there.
"I could've done a $2 billion takeover (in another industry) with the capital I put in the Dallas Cowboys," he says. "I really could see (myself as) the idiot who had something real good, who blew it all to coach the Cowboys. I just knew that was going to be my legacy." Jerry Jones 9/14/2012

tackle is important, but it would be nice to be able to run between the tackles and get the best guard available... So many options at 18

I've wondered if Jerry would do something drastic like move up based upon his end of the year comments.

That's the problem....I feel like Jerry thinks the team is good enough as it is to compete for a Super Bowl. I'm worried he'll try to take a shortcut when he should just focus on building a team.

If he makes it to #10 (which I doubt) I could see it, but the price to pay to move from 18 to to around 5 or 6 is just too great. Don't think Jerry is that senile yet.

Not worth it for Jarvis Jones. Good player but not an elite prospect worth trading up for

Why? This is like the fools that say, "I would never take and G or C in the first."

What if DT is the best on your board?

This, this, and this.^

The Cowboys can't afford to take any players with significant risk factors in the 1st round regardless of upside.

Ware is at the point that he will start declining soon. Spencer is almost 30. I would like this trade up more than the trade up fot Mo, but I am egainst any trade up. I csn see the reasons for it.

Too many holes to fill, so I wouldn't even entertain the idea of trading up. If anything, I would trade out of the first and pick up as many picks as I can in rounds 2 - 4.
