Why not
Holmgren knows that there is easy money in Dallas and a culture accepting of mediocrity

i dont doubt Holmgrem is a better coach than Garrett, but like others have stated before, Holmgrem wouldnt coach for more than 2-3 years here, i think we all would want someone who is in it for the long haul.

Do they mean as OC or he'd only come here as HC? Cause he's not going to get a HC job in Dallas.
We need wins, and that's all we need. I don't give a damn about anyone on this roster over wins. I'd trade Ware, Lee and Dez if it meant more wins.

Remember in 2009 when the Cowboys were on the verge of bringing in Dan Reeves as a "consultant"?

I would not be at all shocked if the Cowboys hired Mike Holmgren into the "consultant" role they envisioned for Reeves.

This article talks about Reid being hired and then goes into Lamonte now focusing on Holmgren.
Means he won't be coaching.

Red is not going to last more than next year at this current winning percenage of .500

You guys thinking Red is a long term coach are forgetting about one important thing............WINNING GAMES.

Coaches that go .500 every year are not "long term" in today's NFL. After we go .500 again next year, Jerry either has to make a move or build a mote around the stadium to keep the fans from storming it.

Seriously, you cant go 3.5 seasons as the Head Coach of the Cowboys without a single playoff win and expect to keep your job, this is Dallas, not Tennessee.
As the official head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, Jason Garrett is 16-16............"Its a Process of stacking good days"

2013 Prediction: "NO PLAYOFFS"

I have seen Red's offense for 6 seasons, with year 6 being the lowest offensive points scored since he was hired.

I have also seen Red's game management, probably the worst in the league.

I have seen our schedule for next season and I dont see more than 8 Ws.

Bottom line......if we have pretty much the exact same coaching staff and pretty much the exact same key personel, why would next year be any different from the last 2 or 3?

Like Einstein said, doing the same thing and expecting different results is the definition of insainity.
