Yeah Werner is a top 10 player in this draft, if he's there at 18 its a no brainer.

Yeah. Werner in a heartbeat, especially with them not resigning Spencer.

I question whether Werner can play in a 3-4. Or at least to the tune of being worth a 1st round pick. He's a natural 4-3 end.
For that reason alone, I go with Sylvester Williams. I know he's 24, but just give me 6 or 7 years of dominant NT play and I'll be happy. He should be near plug and play at that age.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

Bjoern Werner
Jake Matthews is returning to school.
If you remove Werner due to Matthews not being available, then here are some names that have been discussed at various times as being possible mid-round picks:
Eric Fisher
Sam Montgomery
Ezekiel Ansah
Cordarrelle Patterson
Jesse Williams
Matt Barkley
Lane Johnson
Oday Aboushi
Kevin Minter
Alec Ogletree
John Jenkins
Dallas Thomas
Sylvester Williams
.

Ah, but the BPA for the Cowboys might be Williams because of that concern.
Can he drop in coverage? If he can't and we're not making a move back to a 4-3, what do you do with him? Bulk him up to play end?

I think we'll be moving to the 4-3.

You may be right now.
Then Werner. Super steal at 18.

Alec Ogletree. Him Lee and Carter would be epic in a 4-3.

You almost have to consider that, and hope to find some DLine value later.

You cannot have a successful 4-3 without defensive lineman.
If Cowboys move to 4-3:
Werner and it's not even close.
If they stay in 3-4:
Jonathan Jenkins...with Rat gone you have a major hole at NT even with the journeyman.

If you move to 4-3 it's Werner in a heartbeat. If you stay 4-3, I'd try really hard trade back a few spots and pick up another 2nd or 3rd if possible, and then go BPA on the O-Line or D-Line. But Werner won't fall to 18.. sorry.
