Is that good for the team? Could Garrett trust someone like that?

If this is even a thought in Jerry's mind then he should just let Jason go now.
If Jason fails you move forward with a New HC and no Lovie Smith in my view would not be the man I turned to.

If Dallas lands Lovie........I'll be needing a cigarette aterwards.
AS: Cowboys ice their own kicker in 19-13 OT loss

“That is one of the luxuries of my position as owner as well as the ultimate decision maker, general manager and president – I can do that and take the losses and come back for more,” Jones said.

God help us...............

Lovie is a long shot. There's still about 5 head coaching positions open out there. How many of those would he have to turn down to accept the DC position here? Unless he was promised Garrett was being shown the door after next season and then turn the keys over to him. Sort of like when he brought Garrett here in the first place before Wade was even hired. Once that happened, you knew carrot top was his goldenchild. He should be gone right now as well.

If this is the case, then Jones should just fire Garrett right now and get it over with.

You cannot hire coaches as contingencies. It will never work.

San Diego probably goes with Arienas
Cleveland goes with Zimmer
AZ goes with Haley or Horton
Philly - ??
Chicago - not going there

I think Philly is his only chance and that's a long shot. Not that I think Lovie is coming here, I just don't think he will be a HC in 2013.
