I have no source to link but from someone I know that is fairly close to the organization, the Cowboys are pursuing Tony Sparano to be the new OC and Lovie Smith as the new DC. Also, there is interest of finding a new QB coach. Again, I cannot say this is fact, just forwarding this on to you. I'm writing from my phone so I'm keeping it short. Other names on the list are Norv Turner, Brian Billick, and Romeo Crennel.

Again, none of this is a guarantee or could just be leaves in the wind. Just wanted to throw this in the mix. Maybe someone with more connections could verify or denounce this.

5 HC positions still remain. I find it highly unlikely that Lovie smith won't get one of those.

Perhaps Lovie smith wants to much money from those 5 teams. But, I doubt the Cowboys would offer more for defensive coordinator.

The current trend of HC hirings is leaning heavily towards offensive minded coaches which could leave Lovie to a coordinator position.
