DallasCowboys.com believes the Cowboys should "try to renegotiate" the four years and $30.5 million remaining on Miles Austin's contract, and considers his roster spot "far from a sure thing."

Jerry Jones' in-house website has a strong take on his No. 2 receiver's contract. The Dallas Morning News reported last week the Cowboys are "expected to approach" Austin about restructuring, and it certainly sounds like that will be the case. With Austin currently due $6.7 million in 2013, the Cowboys could reportedly save $5 million against the cap if they release Austin "early in the offseason." We agree Austin is overpaid and a prime restructure candidate, but we doubt the Cowboys would decimate their receiver depth by releasing him.

You wont get Austin type production from a rookie or a guy you can afford in Fa. They should def try to restructure. Its a win situation for both. Dallas gets cap and Austin gets more money guaranteed.

I'm sure they will try to re-structure it to open up cap space. They will not try to cut his pay and they will certainly not cut him.

Miles Austin is due 19.1 million over the next 3 years (6.4 million/year).

Last offseason:

stevie johnson signed for 5 and 36.25 (7.25 million/year).
Laurent Robinson signed 5 and 32.5 (6.5 million/year)

There are a ton more examples I can give.

Miles Austin is more than worth what's left on his contract, there is a 0% chance he will be cut. Please stop this discussion now.

Yeah, most of his money has been paid already in bonus. It makes no sense to cut him. What they need to do is get him in some programs to get those hammies stretched out better. Yoga would be ideal along with that muscle massage/stretching that Emmitt was doing towards the end of his career.
