Default 3-4 Defensive Coordinators

Who are all of the possible 3-4 Defensive Coordinator Candidates?

I know there is rampant speculation that the Cowboys are moving to a 4-3; however, if that is incorrect, then I'm curious about the 3-4 candidates.

Defensive Coordinator's for a teams that did NOT fire their Head Coach are probably not candidates because coaches can't make lateral moves unless their contract expired.

Ray Horton - Reported to be Friends with Garrett.
Lovie Smith
Romeo Crennel
Eric Mangini - Would probably want the same assistant coaches.
Todd Grantham - Has worked for the Cowboys and Saban in the past.
Someone already on the coaching staff ?

Saw somewhere on here that Capers contract is up this year and he and Garret think highly of each other. Not sure what Mike Nolan's status is.

Lovie isn't a 3-4 guy and he's not coming here anyway.

Dan Quinn - Florida defensive coordinator - if you go with a young guy. He was with Saban and Garrett in Miami. DL coach with Jets under Mangini. DL/Assistant head coach in Seattle under Mora. Working with Muschamp in Florida now. Turned down Bucs D-coordinator job last offseason.

Todd Grantham has worked for Nick Saban at Michigan State, Romeo Crennel at Cleveland, Dom Capers at Houston, and Wade Phillips at Dallas as per his profile at Georgiadogs.com.Not sure if relevant, but I found it interesting.

Capers or Nolan would be great.

I really hope we don't switch to the 43 now that we have all these good LB's. Would make about as little sense as switching to the 34 when we did.

I'd prefer a smart young assistant that I've never heard of over a retreat truthfully.

Exactly. We have the personnel, minus a NT, so why change now?

I'm thinking the same thing.

As you said, we need a NT and I think we may need a Safety as well (given Church's injury and M Johnson's lack of game evaluation).

We could easily get these two pieces this off-season.

Although we need a safety no matter what front we play
